I have a WAC number and petition approved in Feb 07. Stuck here for 1 month, 18 days and counting. I called DOS and didn't receive a positive response. Will try calling KCC tomorrow.

if more people post their details then we might be able to conclude something.. there are always exceptions so it is very difficult to figure out.. (well, it might be possible that there is no pattern but if we get more details of more cases then we can think something... after all we can't do anything apart from this ...:mad: )

You know every time I hear the so called "highly skilled and educated" complaining about predatory lending, it reminds me of our maid servant in India. She would constantly get into trouble by borrowing money from her neighborhood sharks at high interest rates, and then come to my parents for help when she couldn't pay up. My parents would give her a well meaning scold, and help her out only because they knew she was illiterate.
Now I wonder how these guys like punjabi7, kumar1 and leo2606 can blame the lender only for what they got themselves into. They even go as far as claiming that moral, ethics, and scruples are all some kind of fairy tale virtues that are hardly ever practiced in real life. They even have the audacity to assume everyone else here shares their definition of what's right and wrong by saying everyone has at one point or another returned used items to stores!
Punjabi7 still insists on avoiding morals in the discussion and is persistently soliciting for "advice/options" for his so called mess.

The very people tossing aside ethics are the ones who used good faith based credit system. Now suddenly it is all Capitalism, Greed, Bank's and Lender's fault. Whatever happen to personal responsibility ?
All those suggesting foreclosure are forgetting one thing: The pendulum has shifted and the same capitalism that supported the reckless credit is now going to choke it off. You don't want to be on the wrong side twice !!!! The thing about free markets is they adjust to new realities long before people do.Before you know it the easy walking away (or foreclosure) might become the biggest mistake while buying house might be distant second.
In the meanwhile please don't shoot the messenger aka sledge_hammer. If you read his posts he has given the best advice with a good dose of much needed reality and sound language. If you are hostile towards him you are simply in denial. The longer you stay there the harder it will be to cope with the new realities.
Punjabi77, good luck to you buddy. This will pass too, don't ruin everything for $20K. You will earn it back but you can't undo foreclosure and whatever comes with it in terms of personal memory, your credit and things in future that you can't foresee now. Do the right thing it will only make you stronger and someday you will be able to tell your kid that you did the right thing in the face of adversity and eventually not only survived it but thrived out of it.

I am not aware of anything that says that you need to bring this up initially in your job search. I personally wouldn't put it in my CV.
Apply for a job, as you would if you had a green card (keeping within the AC21 parameters.) If the question of visa sponsorship comes up then you can say you do not need it. I am not sure why people bring this up with their prospective employers. If you have employment authorisation, you have it, it is not employer specific, it is not site specific, it is quite broad in its scope. The employer
has to complete the I-9 like for anyone else. Any issues would be with the USCIS at the time of adjudication and that would be if AC21 rules are broken.
I think that sometimes we project our own fears onto employers and make issues when none exist. I've seen the same sort of doubts expressed about AP travel.
Folks need to grow more confident generally. For many their immigrant petitions 140s have been approved and their 485s have been pending for quite a while. They give you these interim benefits for a reason, so you can use them!
Not sure if you are in the IT field, but a reqruiter/HR is the first interfacing person. No matter what, these are the first questions you can expect when a reqruiter calls you.

Went for first interview on 4th Jan. Got confirmation email today 15th Jan 2008. Got this email about an hour back.

Let me tell you I am as anxious and frustrated as you all "July 2 filers, no action yet" are. But I am thinking about it a bit calmly, rather than thinking of doing something so that I feel that I have done something (i.e. complain, write to congressman, etc.). Expressing my anger by saying they should have done this or that, does not change the situation. I believe USCIS is working, as expected, with the capability/attitude of a government worker, treating our filings (which are so important to us) just another government office paper work. Best is just to wait for another 10 days, and if nothing is heard by then, take action as per procedures.

Today got the magic e-mail Card/ Document Production . Looks like the SR submitted 3 days back worked in my case. Prior to my SR the IO said that they don't have FP cleared, I called FBI and confirmed that they sent back my FP's and in my SR I request the IO to input the details that I got from FBI, Looks like that did the trick.
All the best for the folks who are waiting for approval.

I am sorry if I am bit late on this forum. Why even inform USCIS when you use AC21? There is no rule stating that you have to inform them , so why do it?
