Some one counting on indian gov. call me pessimist but good luck with that. I would be happy if Indian gov / politicians are out of this. You never know what kind of statements that can come out of their mouths ...

I have PD of Nov 2006, 140-Approved, 485-July 2nd. I have not got any LUD on any of my applications. So, this soft LUD might not be for everybody.

Employer pays lawyer fees/USCIS fees for I-485/AP/EAD as well as medical, photos, mailing and other incidentals for me as well as spouse: Basically everything.

Do I need to take separate appointments for my wife....I mean can I take one appointment on one Receipt # and check the status of hers too at infopass? On telephone call they always ask for the applicant when checking the status.
I'll take an infopass then...did u call us the customer service before the infopass...I am sure they'd have told you that your dependents are approved...I am sure infopass agent see the same screen as the customer reps at the Nat serv centers.

Another handy use of Break Apart is to break apart a .jpg or gif file. This does a kinda conversion on it, to make it seem as if it had been drawn with fills in Flash.
Sometimes the quality is reduced, sometimes isn't. Really it depends on the complexity of the photo. But it can also help to reduce your file size. :)

Well...so now they have added addln staff to handle the annual load (1 - 1.3 mil) EAD/AP requests....
Not yet. It is still planning to hire those 1500. So soon USCIS will come up with argument regarding "Administrative burden" to hire those 1500 and set up training centers and it will take almost 2 years. Again we will hear the reason for further slow down due to this un anticipated work load. After 2 years USCIS will realize the "heavy financial burden" which will also be un anticipated and hence USCIS will come up with fee increase... Cycle will go on and on...

I E-filed my EAD application and sent the supporting documentation to the location on the confirmation page. To day I see the following notice:
"We attempted to deliver your item at 1:51 PM on June 11, 2008 in MESQUITE, TX 75185 and a notice was left. It can be redelivered or picked up at the Post Office. If the item is unclaimed, it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."
Is there something I can do to resolve this?

My employer got back to me today & informed me that based on the advise of the attorney they will not be providing me a copy of the I-140. He understands that I can leave the company anytime & that he would never hold me back. My question is if there is any other way of getting a copy of the I-140? Is a copy of either the approval notice or the receipt number critical?

Well, thanks all for your responses, but I am as cfused as I was before I posted the question. Do any of you have any sources to back your claims. I know for sure that worldwide income has to be reported, so thanks for that clarification desi3933. But do you have a source that mentions that a person on H4 can for sure work outside. Many thanksa again guys. All your help is appreciated.

Hello everybody,
How will this work for my wife (who is on H4 now)?
If I only travel back to US, can I file for my wife too. Or I file it for myself, and file for my wife after Aug17th when she is back.
Or MUST my wife also be present in US to file the I140/485?
Pls advice.

Both of you have to be in US to file 485. You may co-ordinate with your attorney while in India to prepare the paper work. Fly to be here atleast on 16th August, Sign the applications and ship it overnight to USCIS so that it reaches them on 17th August.

Hispanics are Catholics and the CIR will tremendously expand the horizen of their constituents and its power base in the national political arena. Twelve or thirteen millions are not a small number. The same question is also raised relating to the AFL-CIO, labor unions. Again, you guessed it. The low-end industries and illegal aliens that will benefit from legalization are charaterized as workforces that belong to the organized unions. This is contrasted to the high-end industries and professional workers that are not by nature tightly organized into the unions. For the reasons, the unions tend to support the CIR, unlike the high-tech worker bills, to take advantage of expanding its membership and power base through the to-be-newly-recruited members of the unions. my 485 got denied lastweek as my previous employer withdrawn approved 140. I changed employer after 1year of 485 pending. I am filing MTR..
so r u on EAD or H1B? wondering if you were able to continue working on EAD.
its a gray area and even lawyers are not sure 100%.

Eb3Retro, Did you sign G-28 initially for your (previous employer's) attorney to represent? if so how did you change the representation?
i have not changed attorney so far, just wanted to retain the same guy until i extend my EAD this time, (which is pending and awaiting results anytime soon) , once this is done, i am going to file G28 and self file AP myself. My attorney charges exorbitant fees for doing this, just for the safety sake, just for ead extn i used him...few more days and i will say thanks for all his services..

Though my in-laws had an early appointment(945am, Chennai Consulate India) last month, they got their PP next day only. So they had to stay one more day in Chennai.

Hi,
I had a somewhat similar situation, had to get my name changed on the passport to my married name. Its been 2.5 weeks since I sent everything to Indian Consulate , SF and have not received my new passport back. I have had to cancel my travel plans as well as my appointment at the new delhi consulate.
So please keep ample provision for the passport to come back when making travel plans.

I filed my i 140 and i 485 on Dec 23rd 2003 under EB3 category. I think my labor was filed under EB3 category. My Priority date is Mid August 2003. After 180 days of filing (around Nov 2004) I left my sponsoring company and joined another company with similar Job responsibility (to avail AC21), But didn't get my H1b transferred to new company. My new job require Master degree and 5 years of experience. I have acquired my master degree before joining my new company. I got married recently and Ofcourse I can't file for my wife's i 485 since I am from India and visa numbers are not available.
Can I get my H1Bvisa transferred to new employer if he is willing to sponsor?
Can I file another i 485 under EB2 as my new job requires Master degree?

I just got me H1B approval Notice and copy of I-129 petition. There is nothing wrong with approval but I notice few things and have few concerns/questions to the group if some one had similar experience in the past:
1. Passport number was not correctly typed in form I-129 (however copies passport were sent along with the forms by immigration dept)
2. My Alien number does not show up in 797A approval notice as I have pending 485.
3. The I-94# on passport card does not match with the one on new approval notice.
Now My questions is :
Do I need to get this passport#(1) typo fixed now or its ok?
Is it ok not have A# updated in H1B Approval Notice? My wife's H4 have her A#.
Do I need to get my I-94# matched with the one I had in my previous notice and A/D card stapled in passport?
All this happened due to mistakes commited by our Immigration/attorney.Now she is not ready to listen and asks me to call customer service as she thinks its not her problem.
Any suggestions/experience are apreciated.
