I used Fedex Ground , just a tad more expensive than USPS Priority ( if you add all delivery confirmation etc etc ).

Here are things that you can do to protect your ID. My id was stolen about 7-8 years back and ever since I have been extremely careful
- Call all three agencies(Equifax, Transunion and Experion) and put a HOLD on all new accounts being opened in your name. Say your information was lost in mail and you think there is a possibility of ID theft. You can also put a freeze for your account, with the option to open based on calling your cell phone or home phone
- If you have Citibank Master Card, they offer ID protection program for 1 agency for $6.95 per month...there are other Credit card and banks that offer for $12/month for all three agencies. In my opinion 1 agency update is good enough
-Call the police and register a case, as soon as you find somebody has stolen your id
- have alerts in your bank account to show deduction or auto withdrawals of more than $500
- Shred all personal and financial documents that state SSN, DOB, and any other personal details
- Beware of a Id security protection agency scams from companies that show SSN can never be stolen. The CEO who adverstised that this is my SSN and you cannot steal it...his own id was stolen later
- get rid of all cards that you do not use. if there were credit card details in the package, call credit card company and ask them to re-issue new cards with new numbers

Thanks NikNikon for the advice. I shoot everything from inside the arena so I can move between events to get the best position. Right know the strobes are out of my budget. Thanks MatsP also for your input. After your comments and talking with someone from Showcase here in Atlanta I feel much better :) about what I ended up with. This must be one of the toughest shooting environments you can come across. Do you think a bracket mounted flash would help any with the red eye? Also after 2200+ photos I am trying to learn to batch process pictures with photoshop. I am really please with how the unsharp mask helps the noise from the higher ISO. Any suggestions on batch processing tips to enhance sharpness, reduce noice and adjust levels & color are welcome. I have used photoshop for years in my printing trade but never learned it's full potential for use with photography. Also are any of you using Nikon's Picture Project? Particularly the D-lighting adjustment?

If company 'ABC" is a consultant company then..make a deal with them and work thru them for XYZ for 2-3 months and take transfer to xyz.
Otherwise you have no other option than using EAD.

My wife had Henna on her hand when she went for her FP. The officer asked her did not take her finger prints and asked her to send that letter to their office by mail for re-scheduling the appointment. She sent the letter and got another appointment within 40 days. No problems in the second appearance.

Team, My Labor is filed under PERM was Audited and now approved.
For, Qualification it says Bachelor + No Experience
However, in Skills section it says 5 years of experience in Software Development (.NET).
I got Audited and was required to provide Business Justification for 5 years experience for software developer position.
Can this be applied in EB2?

I think you are risking applying for EB2. I have had a very bad experience with attorney mishaps. You will be better off applying for EB3.
If the qualification in labor was stated as Bachelor + 5 years in all places that would get you qualify straight to EB2

I am currently under H1-B status, and have received a visa stamp at the embassy in my home country. But my H1B visa is going to expire on September 30, 2007 and I have taken a long break for my health problem from my "current" employer since last year December. Now I am in my home country. Recently a US law firm wants me to work for them and starts to line up an interview for me. What's possible result of my H1B status and what's your suggestion? Thank you very much~~

You need to get another H1-B from the new employer. You will not be subjected to quota. Otherwise there is no issue since you are in your home country.

My wife's EAD was also sent back even though we haven't moved. She got all her other receipts. I didn't have her name in the mail box. Wondering if it is the reason but again she got all her receipts, ad parole. We called USCIS they opened a Service Request. It will take a month minimum.

If any IV member works in the university, could you find out if there are any Indian and chineese assistant professors that have joined in the recent past. Such people might have applied in EB2 through university and will be retrogressed.
Also pls get in touch with post-docs in your universities and inform them about IV. Hopefully some of them might be willing to help us with the interview.

For any new comprehensive immigration reform, we must push for the Ability to be able to file for EAD after labor rather than having to wait for I-140 approval.
Do anybody know if any of the proposed bills have this provision? We must get together to push for this in the final bill as this doesn't harm anybody.

Durbin (father of Dream Act) hates us. He loves to grand stand for "children of undocumented" "the down torn, the poor, the under privileged" and thinks we are like spoilt rich kid. This is a good thought, but who will bell the cat? Durbin is totally irrational when it comes to children of legal and undocumented. Not sure that you know this, but just thought of laying the facts as they are..
I understand what you want to convey. However, let us imagine a situation;
1) a senator / representative introduces an amendment saying "children of legal immigrants who are stuck in the backlogg of visa applicants and have abided by the rules that apply to those mentioned for children of ilegal immigrants, should be given precedence when allotting the required green cards". This is because these kids also "have been in this land for long, know of no other land other than this, have abided by rules and also in most cases are the best performing in the schools/colleges. they will serve particularly to raise the standard of education in the US on the long run".
I cant imagine how they can deny this amendment if at all tha majority wishes to pass the Dream act. This way atleast we can help the kids of our friends who have kids and are waiting for ever in line.
I would like to hear what IV seniors have to say about this. if they consider that we will esentially be linking us to the ilegals by doing this, I would say; There is no way that there is going to be any help comming (legally) for us regarding reduction of backlogg, so why not atleast get the future generation a slight push and we can still continue to wait for our turn.

so those that didn't pay the new fees when they filed 485 but paid the new fees for renewal of EAD and AP what happens to them? do they also get free renewals?
They don't get free renewal .. they have to pay everytime they renew their EAD/AP. :(
luckily right now we can get 2 years EAD for every renewal (some conditions apply).
ps : need more green <hint> <hint> :D

You are still on H1 status. Why do you want to apply for AP. Get your H1 stamped when you leave the country and you can get in on H1 status.

If he goes by your advise, what happens if for some reason he does not get the H1 stamped? A person leaving US should always apply for AP when his/hers I485 is pending if he/she has no visa stamp in his/hers passport. If he goes for H1stamp, and the stamp is denied for whatever reason, he will still be able to come back to the states using the AP and continue I485 application. But if one leaves, and has no valid visa stamp and stamping is denied, one will not be able to come back to the states.

We are in a similar situation . My wife had an EB3 approved I-140 with PD Apr 2004. She got her new EB2 I-140 approved with PD Dec 2006. I have opened a service request ... no update . Sent a letter to Ombudsman. No response yet. I am thinking of pursuing with the local senator.
The lawyer says that USCIS is treating these cases in the general I-140 queue and therefore may take about a yr to resolve.
