My comany is filing a second LC under PERM for a substantially different job position and job location.
My first LC ( PD Oct 2004) was filed in TR. My LC is "in Process" at PBEC. No I-140 yet. I am from India
The question is: Once the PERM LC gets approved, and I140 ( second LC) approved, can the first PD ( Oct 2004) PD be retained??

Do you have a lens that will let you get in closer? I'd like to see a portrait style shot of one of the birds with the odd bills.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Nik, I was actually using a 600mm + 1.4x for the birds since Avocets and Stilts are pretty shy. These are just small versions, though. Ask and ye shall receive; here's a portrait cropped from another shot. For the full size (a little bigger, 1200x1200) go to my gallery :)

When my spouse started working using EAD, my employer told us that they cannot renew her H4 since she had already started using her EAD; also my employer renewed only my H1 and H4 for my minor son.

Yes it can be done for 180 days after approval given that marriage occured before approval.
My confusion is with the lockboxes.
The application says file at chicago lockbox
The lawyer says Nebraska Service Centre.

Well if the Republicans want those hispanic votes why dont they
pass the CIR right away? Why they have to wait until the mid term?
oh yaa, they will be losing all the red-neck neo-cons vote ;) right away, in my view everybody includeing Dems are just test water and see how people in their consitutancy are feeling about immigration subject and results show many americans are against CIR in principal (thanks to Lou and co campain).
It will be really bad if Reps wins the house again, they can really push their neo-con agenda and CIR will be history very soon.
so It is really important for us to have Dems wining this election :D

My co worker is a sales man who travells to latin america frequently. My company is concerned that once he files I-485 he will not be able to travel out of US. He has a valid H1 stamped on his passport.
His PD is Feb06, EB-3, ROW.
Can he not travel on his H1 once the he files AOS?

House prices in California have fallen significantly this year. However, they are still out of reach for most of the first time buyers. Simi Valley and Santa Clarita are nice places to live but still quite expensive. You may be able to find a townhouse for the range that you have mentioned. Please browse www.realtor.com and run some searches by cities to get an idea.

The general rule for qualifying a loan is that you need to make at least 1/3rd per year of the house that you are buying. For example: if you make $50K a year, you can qualify for a mortgage up to $50K*3=$150K and not more than that.

When you already hold an H1 and it comes time to renew it/ file for extension/ 7th year etc, or if you want to switch jobs, you don't have to worry about the H1 quota. You can file at any time of the year, regardless of H1 availability.
Your new H1 will be exempted from the quota, hence called "non-cap".

Hello -
Its been 30 days since my AP was mailed to me as per USCIS notification and I have not yet received it, but on other hand we receiver my wifes AP with in 3 days of approval.
Can you guys suggest if I have to wait little longer or assume its lost in mail and apply for new one.
Did any one on this forum experience more than 30 days to receive there AP since document mailed notification from USCIS.
I would appreciate your suggestions/comment.

Even CIR comes most pro immigrants groups will oppose. CIR will not have Guest workers program for low skilled workers because of high unemployment. So Business and pro illegal group will oppose. EB reform will be there in the CIR. But that will come with Grassley's restrictive bill on H1b. So, for that most high skilled group including IV will oppose. So CIR will be opposed by everyone. Status quo will continue till some compromise is reached.
When it is piecemeal people say we want comprehensive reform.
When it is comprehensive reform they say it is too broad to pass .
When it is summer they say Immigration Bill be introduced as early as Winter .
When it is winter they say it immigration bill will be introduced as early as summer .
When it is between spring(between winter and summer) they say now there is not adequate support for the bill.
This is a clear motive of hanging immigration reform like a bone in front of the dog and making him run around it and pay taxes .

My wife is in h4 now and received the EAD. I also received it, everybody is saying if she uses her EAD her H4 will be invalid. Is that a good or bad thing? What about she lost her job after three months? what will be her status? also is we travel using the AP what will be her status? or it doesn't matter as long you have the EAD and AP......
Yes, she will lose her H4 status if she uses EAD. Her new status will be 485-pending.
At this point, if she quits/loses job, that's fine, as her status is not bound to the EAD/job, but to her 485 pending status. She will be able to travel on AP, or apply for new H4 outside (I'm not sure about the later part, so, I'd suggest using AP).
The only risk is, if her 485 application gets denied, she will be out of status, and will have to leave immediately. However, if you still have your H1 valid, she can apply for an H4 again outside the country.
