my case was sent to TX office on 6/29 for 7/2 delivery and i checked online the receipt date was 7/31. dont know why. should be 7/2
but i got FP notice on 9/10 for appt dt = 9/25

online recipt date will show as 7/31 but that is not recipt date..u should be able to 7/2 in the acutal original notice..same thing happened to me..so dont worry

I just called the USCIS National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 to get clarification.
The representative I talked to checked with her supervisor, and her response was the following:
- The OMB number at the top is something related to the medical board and has nothing to do with the USCIS. The expiry date is irrelevant to the USCIS. The USCIS only cares about the revision date at the bottom (09/16/05).
In other words, the form that is currently on the USCIS web site is acceptable now and in the future (past 6/30/07) until whenever the USCIS changes which revision of the I-693 will be considered acceptable.

IT in canada is in a bad shape.....very difficult to maintain a good job.....people get citizenship after 3 years...and they move to usa on TN visa...
I agree, IT might be in a bad shape in Canada, and indeed, coming back on a TN visa is indeed shorter than waiting for 6/7 years for a GC, not to mention that one gains self driven job mobility.

The law is very clear in this matter, you can travel while an extension is pending you cannot travel if you have filed for a change of status.
Travel outside the United States while an extension of stay application is pending with the Service is not considered an abandonment of the application, and, as a result, the extension request may be granted notwithstanding the trip abroad. Keep in mind that the extension applicant may have problems returning to the U.S. if his or her visa has expired. In this cases, he or she will need to obtain a new H-1B nonimmigrant visa abroad before returning to the United States.

Is the employer-employee relationship going to go on for 3 months? (ie. is he going to go to office, get paid at usual intervals etc)? If so, he is fine, he is in status. If he has been laid off, has no access to teh office anymore etc, then as far as H1-B goes, the employer-employee relationship has ended and he is out of status; he should transfer teh H1 asap.

Rental income, stock dividends and interest are allowed under passive income. Passive income is allowed for H1-B (I had/have a rental property in a different state in the US, while I was still on H1B. It's a different matter that I am an EAD now...)
Please check if selling intellectual property (i.e., "Apps") on a website is a classified as a passive or an active income. I am strongly inclined to believe that it is a passive income as you are NOT doing the work of selling stuff (for example, if you sold stuff on eBay, that is passive income). Please check with an immigration attorney AND a CPA about the classification of active vs. passive incomes as it relates to web based businesses.
If it's confirmed to be passive - go ahead and make money.

They are totally useless.
Earlier trial Adobe 7.0 Professional did give edit and save. Not 8.0
Bottonline: don't waste time or by 8.0 for USD 1800 or so. Or use one who has PDF editors (Admins etc)
Buy PDFill it will cost 20$ , It is cheapest software available for editing and saving PDF forms.

Yes, definitely update the I-9. Also as rockstart suggested you are now in AoS status or in legalese - "Period of Stay Authorized by the Secretary of Homeland Security".
Also note there is nothing such as as dual H1-B and AoS status at any time.

The AP should be accompanied by employer's letter that proves your support,i .e.It is a simple letter which states that the employer supports your I485.
Please also carry few recent paystubs and copies of all h1,if they are not stamped in the passport. This was asked at POE in IAD(Washington Dulles International Airport).
