Quick Chain of events .
India rejected both Boeing and Lockheed Martin's proposal of fighters . I am not debating the reasons or the merits of this decision if this was right or wrong . I am just discussing the potential repercussions this has had so far and might have .

1) The issue is so serious that Tim Roemer , US Ambassador to India submitted his resignation immediately since he was on the hook for making this deal work .This shows the measure of disappointment they had.
2) India was seeking US assurances in security a Permanent Security council seat , which looks far fetched now .
4) Pentagon , Whitehouse and the DoD very upset that deal fell through . This sentiment will certainly percolate to the USCIS and the State department and might embolden Anti Immigration senators whose measures will get more support in the house and senate.
5) Prosecution of companies entangled in cases like Infosys might find more support and favor with the Govt.
Question is how/if there will be a backlash against India / Indian's get back at us at least in the short term .Increased scrutiny and visa denials , PoE Harassment , GC audits etc.
Will the US take a Tit-for-Tat reaction on this issue is what remains to be seen.

According to the reports, India went with the technical evaluation where as US in the name of transparency wanted a political decision. There is also end-user agreement US wanted India to sign, which allows US to come and check the planes whenever and wherever it wanted to... so blaming India in this is not right... As per the data, so far people with notice date (on 485, from NSC) before sept 1st have got their FP notices (except few people). So, I presume if someone's case transfered back to NSC from CSC before spet 1 st, he or she should expect their FP notice soon.
Obviously, we are not going get our notices if there several people lined up with NSC notice dates before our transfer dates.
This is just my logical conclusion, may be incorrect

What is your defintion of a large project ? How much budget/people/schedule etc should we use for that definition.
I would say it depends from organization to organization. The way I have seen operating in the industry, one could consider a project large if it has a $1 million budget or more. However, organizations could also consider a program with mutiple small projects with a total budget value greater than $1 million as a large project, where the PM may handle mutiple small projects which will cumulatively have a budget greater than $1mill.
This is also one way to justify the need of a PM.
What is the budget of the project is one of the questions that a PM should ask during an interview, so that he/she will know the stability of the project and its longevity.

Seems like everyone losing hope including core - as someone else said above its really sad to see this. Please dont lose hope at this critical moment else all of our efforts for last two years will go waste.
I cant imagine how much time/effort has been put into this effort by core members (as a relatively inactive member I myself could have easily spent several hundred hours on these forums in last year and half; and atleast some time in calling/faxing etc.). After all these efforts and seeing the current bill its understandable to get deeply disappointed. But dont lose hope yet. Its not over.

All of us were also thinking that we are in a better position to introduce and enact amendments in this congress. We still have time (2 weeks) for amendments - why are we thinking about alternate arrangements and slowly losing hope. Does this show our level of confidence now or this thread is meant for some light hearted fun?

We are not going to give up now after all that hard work just because the bill is ridiculous.
Just because I am taunting the injustice of the bill doesnt mean that I or others have given up. WE ARE in position to put in amendments. How much, I dont know. But pretty sure that we will make a good amount of difference.
But dont let your hopes down because of a sarcastic comment on the bill. Take it as a joke or ignore it.

I need some help with my daughter�s EAD and AP renewal (e-filing) applications.
Here are the details. She came to US on H4 (I am the primary applicant, on H1B). As she was going to age-out in July 2007, she was transferred to F1 in April 2007. Fortunately, she was able to file I-485 in June, 2007 and got her EAD and AP. In 2008 she went abroad and came back to US using AP.

1. Manner of entry to US (visitor, student etc.)
2. Current Immigration Status (visitor, student etc.)
3. Please select your eligibility status
Similarly, for I-131 AP renewal (e-filing) what should be her response to following questions?

I am in the same situation as you are, hoping to file EB2 with a dependent who aged out just after EB3 filing. My lawyer yesterday (Fragomen) confirmed that the dependent will get included in the EB2 filing.

Perhaps, USA can levy another "fee" on H1-B folks to cover up the fighter jet deal loss just like they levy the mexico border protection fees on H1-B's.
Obama and USA should know that they can not cover every expense in USA by levying fees on H1-B folks. It's disgusting.
