I think most of the money comes from businesses that employ these people to cut costs. We don't have any such resource. So I don't think IV not getting enough donations can be blamed on IV users.
I have donated as much as I can without getting my budget in jeopardy with all the mortgage , taxes, "health insurance " .medicare, car payments etc etc that we have to deal with.
Another point I think is that even if IV had a couple of million dollars I don't think it will be able to pursuade the Congress to pass any legislation to bring relief to legal immigrants considering the mood of the people in the Congress . No one would like to hurt their political career with voting for us in the Congress. The politicians do only lip service whether for illegal or legal immigrant bills. They have zero interest in seeing them passed in the Congress.

I would think coming from MI, a state that has one of the highest unemployment, and the relief that the auto industry got - it continues to exist because of those liberal fiscal policies.

Hi Guys,
I am not sure if this is the trend everywhere only in TX. The DPS - Department of public Safety which is issuing Driving License started asking for the Employment Verification or latest Pay Slip. I asked the officer if its the new requirement and she replied Yes, its started recently. If you are in H1 or H4 visa, you need to prove that you are still in job and getting paid. One more nail in the coffin.

I understand your situation as i was there once. If you dont have insurance than your options are very limited. if you live in dallas county parkland hospital is your only choice. Parkland has a network of several clinics around DFW area. Every clinic has financial assistance department. You can visit any of those and they will setup a payment plan which is reasonable based on your income. You will visit them for all prenatal care and when the time comes for delivery it will be taken to parkland. and parkland is a very good hospital as well. beside parkland several hospitals also offer cash plans like RHD memorial at 635 but they will charge you close to 4k just for delivery day and if its a normal one. you will have to do prenatal at your own.

The government is telling my family I am not an adequate person to form a family with in the U.S. because I was deported with a drug-related offence of more than 30 grams of marijuana, yet it is granting the 212(d)(3) Waiver for Non-Immigrant Visas to Aliens deported with a drug-related offence of more than 30 grams of marijuana and who wish to travel to the U.S.. United States Citizens need an Immigrant Visas Waiver available to their Alien Immediate Relatives deported with a drug-related offence of more than 30 grams of Marijuana in order to even the scales on both U.S. citizen and Alien immigration privileges concerning Deported Aliens with a Drug-Related Offence of More than 30 Grams of Marijuana.
The way things are now U.S. citizens without a criminal conviction and with Alien Immediate Relatives are being discriminated against by their own government. The needs of deported Aliens with criminal convictions are being placed before their own.
It�s pure hypocrisy and it�s my family�s and my name being placed on the line.
I mean, really, how great can the U.S. be if it�s willing to lose their citizens to aliens like me when they decide to move outside of the United States to join their Immediate and shunned Alien Relatives? The U.S. government�s violation of my family�s civil human rights to liberty, freedom of expression and equality before the law is unwarranted. My U.S. family�s civil liberties to equal protection under the law, to due process and privacy are being discriminated against, they are not receiving fair treatment.

i think CP filers have a valid point to argue for relief. clearly there is an injury to CP filers as the dates were moved forward creating the impression that they will continue to do so or at least hold steady. legal opinion was also in favor of CP based on individual circumstances in many cases. many of these filers already underwent a lengthy BEC process, which newer Perm/I-485 filers never went through. the government flip flop is the cause of this additional injury.
instead of asking for specific fixes to be put in, CP filers should articulate this problem clearly and get legal opinion as to possible relief measures.

Per lawmaker we recently met(WA state), it is imperative that we also get our message across to lawmakers in the midwest and south.
Due to resident strength and businesses employing H1B people(who end up getting stuck in retrogression) in the west and east coasts and large metropolitan cities, the lawmakers in these areas are slightly more aware of our issues. They also get funding from local companies that employ people stuck in retrogression.
However, representatives in the MIdwest and South do not get a lot of funding from local businesses that employ H1Bs and have other local issue that they would rather pursue(agriculture, etc.).
It is imperative that awareness is spread in the midwest and south !!

The difference, my friend, will come about once the DREAM Act passes in its present form. The undocumented child will pay in-state tuition, whereas your child will keep on paying out-of-state tuition. And in 3 years, the former will get premanent residency or GC, whereas your child will still be in the line for H1, EB2/3, at the mercy of USCIS.
So, do support this bill - I am 'so called legal' immigrant, my son is going to university (having H4 visa) but he is treated the same way as illegal sillegaltatus student is treated -- no financial aid is available to my son or in-state tuition fees. Where is the difference?
