I guess this bill passage is a trigger to all skilled workers to do the following.
Option-1: Become Illegal and get a Z visa.
Options-2: Go back to home land and live with dignity and peace of mind. (This is the option I would take). I am thankfully to the congress for helping me to make a decision, rather then wait for life time.
Options-3: Re-apply in merit based system and wait in line for 4 to 5 years, until some other similar bill comes and says you to restart again in some other system.

Since the CP guys are in minority here , if IV has to invest for them (read we all have to pay for them ) let us see how much they can contribute for their own provision. Let us see if each one of them contribute more than 500 dollars to IV and posts the paypal number.
Why should majority allow a provison for some minority who do not even want to first contribute.

I am trying to figure out the impact of this ruling on the current usage of visa numbers.
I am from ROW so I would like to see how many more from ROW would demand visa numbers due to this new ruling.
Obviously this is important to India and China as well because the only way these two categories would get more visa numbers is from ROW overflow this year as these categories have used up most of their visa numbers for the year.
If I understand correct ROW 1 overflows to ROW 2 and ROW 3 and when ROW 3 current Over flow over to India/China

I wonder nobody cares now that they have got capgap relief and extended OPT. But I wonder what will happen when finally a student after 29 months of OPT apply and this would keep on accumulating. It would get very dirty and ugly for students to even reach to Green Card stage. Forget about retrogression :(

IV has the clout now to approach agencies, explain to them our argument and see if we are able to convince them for short-term reliefs. It is just a matter of trying.
I'm smiling. We will certainly try, but the part above (clout etc) would be an overstatement of our current levels of access. :)
Note that these are the same agencies that have been resisting our efforts to get even the most basic breakdown of data.

Yes she can go alone. She will need her H4 approval notice as well as your H1B approval notice. Additionally since you have applied for AOS take them for good measure. My husband recently went for H4 stamping in London and they did not actually require the adjustment receipt notice but did take anyway with his documents.

IV is not a help group. If some one want to join a help group then go join a "Depressed people Organization". This is a make happen group, where we all fight for what is right. But unfortunately, we are just as strong as number of people actively supporting.
He did everything right and followed the process but now for a VERY stupid reason, he has to wait for 6+ years now. So, the simple question I ask now is what justice it is by having such a complicated Green Card process full of so much uncertainity and unfairness.
Thus, this guy of course should do all what you stated but must do much more, which is stand up for himself.
How can you be so mean specially at a time when he is under tremendous pressure. IV should try to comfort him and suggest him some alternatives. Contact your attorney ASAP and ask him to try to have a good write up and send the application again, who knows USCIS might accept your application (worst case ur app will come back again), but make it fast dont delay anymore.
