There is no point in moving the PD if they cannot process the PD's who are current. This is what is happenning now in USCIS. I would rather they move it by small amounts and process those who are current than give false hope to people!

I think we should send post cards to all the senators. The message should be simple:
1. RECAPTURE of the lost EB visas for the last decade.
2. Per Country quota flexibility.
The post cards should be sent to all the 100 senators.
If people want to send flowers it should be again to soldiers at Walter Reed. I think this time it should say Thank you for your service by USCIS.

I am a consultant hence i have given a friends address who own a home so that i dont need to change it often.
This trick was good five years back but in my opinion it is risky nowadays.The idea and intention was good as not to have bothered avout address change frequently. But To solve one problem you have created another mess. If you will not keep an eye on that you may face problems during naturalization and/or even getting new project where background check is required.
In my opinion, now you will have to keep a practice to give your friend's address as your address while mentioning your residence history. For an example, you want to do a project in new Fortune 1000 client. (Note: Nowadays almost all fortune companies go for background check and medical test before taking one on board)That client will go through your medical/background test and in the form which may be fille up , there do not forget to mention your friend's address as your residence address otherwise you may face problem. Same goes with naturalization process..

I received an email from NVC on Mar 31st with invoice of 794$. My lawyer says that means nothing to me if I don't go for Consulate Processing. But dont they know when they send the email that we didn't opt for CP in I-140. I am confused.

In this case you can not port the PD unless your subsequent I140 is approved ( ie your Feb-08 I-140 is approved) Once this get approved, you can port to already approved EB2-I140 to make your EB2-140 PD same as your EB3-I140 PD.

My case is like this. I applied AOS based on EB3 I140 (PD May 2004). I recenlty got my EB2 I-140 approved with a different labor applied for me. Now, I want to interfile new EB2 I140 with my pending I-485. Does your case similar to mine ? Please let me know and also, how are you planning to do it ?

To make any educated guess there has to be a basis. You need to have some data or some other relevant information. Unfortunately there is no data available that can help one make an educated guess about the future movement of EB3 India.
In the absence of any data being available you cannot make a guess about the movement of visa numbers. However we do have visa bulletins each month and if you notice the movement in Priority dates in the last 6-9 month period, that movement has been very minimal. Also the advisory given by the Department of State has been very negative about the future movement of priority dates. Therefore it is quite safe to conclude that unless legislative action is taken, you can reasonably expect priority dates to move very slowly or even stop moving.

SEVIS applies to F, M and J nonimmigrant students irrespective of undergraduate or graduate studies. I don't think Robert Kumar should consider F1, because he already has AOS pending status and not considered a nonimmigrant student anymore. Its no different than a permanent resident applying for a F1 visa. BTW, I took more than 18 credits in year 2010 @ resident tuition rate with my I-485 receipt, and received federal student loan as an eligible non-citizen with my AP stamp on passport. From what I heard on this forum, some universities are reluctant in considering AOS for resident tuition rate, but one can get help from the justice department in such cases. Here in Arizona all state universities accept AOS as equivalent status of a permanent resident.

When AP is approved, you get 3 copies. I went twice on intl trips and each time they took a copy. I am left with 1 copy of the AP.
Now I need to go on one last intl trip (I have applied for renewal). I just have one copy of AP with me.
How does it work? Will the officer just stamp the AP and make a copy?
Inform POE officer - s/he will make a copy and return the original to you.
