I am planning to change jobs using the EAD / AC-21 in the next couple of months. To start off the process I wanted to get all the approval notices from the lawyer so that I have all the documents in place before I change jobs.
My employer uses a popular law firm to handle the immigration filing etc. I sent an email to the lawyer asking them to send me a copy of the I-140 approval notice.The lawyer responded that according to my company's internal policy they will not provide me a copy of the I-140 approval notice.
I would like to know the following -
1) Has someone else also faced a similar issue ?
2) If so , is there a way to get them to send me a copy of th 140 approval notice
3) Does the employer by law have the authority to restrict the distribution of the 140 approval notice
4) Do I need the 140 approval notice in order to use EAD/AC-21 to change jobs ?

Good lawyer...mine is taking 6-7 business days after submission atleast. Though, I did not fill any forms, I filled a questionairre and she will use that to fill the forms, that might delay things a little.
All the forms require applicants signature, Folks download the forms, complete and sign it and send with all the documents ASAP if filing through an Attorney along with the questionnaire. We used to have the same process, complete the questionnaire and then complete the forms, mail it back for signature... but now as the Legal have to file numerous petitions, they asked us to go ahead and fill all the forms and send the docs requested. they will contact back only if issues, else will file and then will notify us. Also make sure you sign all the form and also attach a G28 form signed and attach for each form, I485/765 and 131. This will save lots of time.

There are tons of such sites/companies that will issue a travel insurance & will issue a letter with all the wordings mentioned by the consulate. You are possibly looking at abt $50-60 bucks depending on your coverage (lowest specified by consulate ) & length of stay (15 days)
You can ask Humana to issue you a letter stating to coverage amount that you will be covered while on your visit to Sweden. When I was traveling to Italy, my insurance company did issue me such a letter & I didn't have to buy anything.

I received email from USCIS this morning for my wife I-485 i.e Card Ordered for Production. I am the Primary applicant, but i am still waiting for my turn. My PD is Sep 2004 & EB2.
We booked our tickets to India before we received this email. I am travelling in 3rd week of Sep. We both have new AP's. So is i have to wait here in USA to receive the Card or can i proceed with my actual plan?. Can anybody share their expertise?.

yadadaba, i have posted my email in many places. If you want to get info, please email me directly in the future. I will share what I know - IV folks ridiculed me when I said my info from the Ombudsman's office was true. They simply don't want people who have a slightly variant info to raise a voice. I have not personally heard from the O's office on this as I sent my application out on Friday for a Monday delivery without any knowledge of such possibility. If it happens it will really stink...to those who call Ombudsman the barking dog - think before you say - he may have just saved us from loosing 40K visas. Possibly the dates were made current only to clear pre-adjudicated cases. And if thats true, guess what? A window will open again in October. Thats better than where we were without the O's report that may have not impacted anything and the 40K cases ahead of us would still be pending. Its in our greater interest that they get approved and we move up the ladder versus we trying to cry wolf. My 2 cents...

Just like the the department of Homeland Security has USCIS to make sure that only very few highly-skilled immigrants get visas (thus causing the USRBD), they should also have the "Agency for USRBD" to counter the damage caused by USCIS. Don't let the RBD suck you in like it threatens to suck Ranga in! Let's go make our voices heard in DC!!

My wife's passport is also expiring in Oct'07 so I spoke to my company's attorney and he said its not a problem and advised me that we will go ahead and file our (me and my wife's) 485. I am planning to apply for the renewal of my wife's passport sometime in July or Aug'07

In my approved I-140 i had a A number, both the numbers are different
While filing the forms for 485/EAD/AP and I-693 ( medical report ) i saw a field for A number
Which number must i put in the field

Do you have I-140 approval notice with you? If so, A# is going to be there just above the Beneficiary name. Nowadays, USCIS is assigning the A# when they approve I-140. This is what i got from my attorney Rajiv Khanna. Do not listen to them who says it comes only when I-485 is approved. Once I-485 is approved, there is no need to have A# number otherthan you want to apply for Citizenship or keep it for records. So, it is useful only while applying 485 or EAD or AP.

I filed my H1 extension and it took 75 days to get it approved. Regular and not premium.
Got 3 yr extension with approved i-140.
If you do premium, you will know the decision in 15 days.

Just chill its just shoplifting, its not like you killed somebody. Its not a crime for which there is no way of repenting. If court found you not guilty and you have done whatever punishment, then I don't see why should have to arms length to hide it.
Don't commit another crime by hiding it. Be confident and accept your mistake. Show some remorse. Just have all your papers in line. One of guys I know has some amazing history which will put your shoplifting to shame. He got his GC and living his life in peace. Just don't hide infront of officials. Also don't flaunt it around.

Hi there,
I have been arrested for shoplifting. Finger printed,and produced in court. The case has been dismissed as I did not do it on purpose. I got the document from the court that case is DISMISSED. 1. Is it good to do the "Case Expungement"?
2. Does the port of entry officer sees the arrest even I expunge the case?
3. any other scenarios I might encounter?
Any suggestions are highly appreciated

The idea is good but,
People with EAD will not come. They are out of the troble zone anyways and can use EAD to get a new job easily as EAD is like a greencard.
People not working in financial sector will not come as they do not think it affects them
People from financial sector will also not come as they are busy finding a job
Remaining will also not come as we desis are reluctant to spend money. It costs money to travel. So maybe DC area and nearby area people may come. But they will be handful.
Most people will be ok to do online petition or fax campaign as you just need to press a button.

Thanks. there is hope. I paper files too and included self paid return envelope. Was yours renewal or fresh? Mine is fresh.Paper filed AP in TSC on Oct 28th 2009 & received the document on Dec 24th 2009 by mail.
