Travelling via UK is OK as long as you have GC or a valid US Visa stamped in the passport. Even if flights are delayed, staying at the airport is no problem. The problem is not in UK but at the time of boarding in home country. Once you are on the plane....you are fine.

Agreed, but look at last week's two leading finalist shots. Basically a couple of good family snapshots: the kid getting wet and a guy with a hose. Confuses me as to what's considered good "competition" photography.

I have i485 pending and working on EAD. H1b expired. I am on Eb3.
I have a opportunity to become a Manager in the same company....The job duties would ofcourse be different from Programmer/analyst position...

my lawyers have indicated that i would need a 551 stamp in the passport if the card doesn't arrive on time, using AP etc is not an option.
anyone been through this situation and has more details?

Oh ok,i think if you are outside US when your GC approved then AP is the only option..May be getting 551 stamp on PP is the option in this case..

I know if you consultant you get paid by hours but not when you become full time employee.
As said earlier, overtime is paid to non-exempt employees. As a white collared employee's most of us are not eligible for overtime. when working as a consultant, your employee contract (if not explicitly, implicitly) gives you a bonus for the overtime that you do. There is no requirement. If you are consulting though, your company might bill overtime if you work overtime, it may or maynot decide to give you that even if they are getting it.

This is not the purpose of this question you mentioned. This can't be done as is specifically not allowed in INA to transfer priority date from FB to EB. This is written into the INA 203(b)(1)(2)and (3). One can only transfer priority dates FB to FB and EB to EB but not otherwise.

Are people getting soft lud on 485 recently?.
The reason why i am asking this is my 485 did not have any LUD for past 1 year and i got one today for all my 485(mine,dependents). 140 did not have any LUD only 485s. No AP,EAD renewals..
I know from previous threads it means nothing. Just wanted to check. Was trying to not post about this but at last i posted.

I have an issue with my I-94 and need your advice on this.
I came back to US from India vacation on 10-Sep-2007. My H1 Papers from Company-B got approved(on 5-Sep-2007) just before I start from India . So I could not show the new Company-B h1 papers at the Port of entry to the CBP officer. I got my new I-94 date based on the old Company-A H1 papers which is valid till 30-Sep-2007.
I red on the Immigration Forums that USCIS follows last action rule to determine the validity of I-94. In that scenario, the I-94 that comes with my new H1 paper gets invalidated. If it is true, am I out of status after 30-Sep-2007?
Could you please advice on my possible options on this issue?

It is legal to be paid for taking part in a clinical research study if you are on an H1B. The institution will provide you with a 1099 at the end of the year which you file with your tax return and of course declare the income.
In answer to the second posting not all research is experimental so the risks can be minimal if almost non existent and a very easy way to get a bit extra cash.

Let's hope that it means the next offering from Canon comes in at about that same price point (about USD$2000). Maybe they (Kodak) know something?
More likely it a natural fallout of their recent announcements regarding their positioning (or non positioning) as a camera maker.
