Great! I sent individual messages to all senators through their websites and was able to send a 'hand delivered' message to Jeff Sessions for $8.95 through following website (https://ssl.congress.org/congressorg/mailapp/).

I know that I'm focusing on a small part of what our community needs, but hope it's a small step to improve immigration for us and all future immigrants.

It is easy to visualize a scenario where an activist Latino american citizen, probably acting under guidance by La Raza, purposefully fails to establish his identity and gets arrested. Imagine the media circus once the news outlets find out that an American citizen was detained due to this law.

H1B + GC holders pay SS + Medicare (??) for which they are entitled only when they become citizen (this is questionable).
anyone (*fine print - from a list of countries) who has paid SS for 10 years or more, and was legally in the US, is entitled to SS benefits, like a US citizen.

Thanks Sheela. Was that visit to home, a part of your employer audit as well as it was mentioned by bujjigadu123 or something else?
Not sure whether you got a chance to ask the officer about the reason for this visit? Was it a part of random check or any investigation on fund transfers or any other program etc?

As DOS has posted the NVC backlog numbers as on November 1, 2009, if the core team look at it and update the analysis. This data is not categorized via month but still may be helpful in prediction.

I am not advising anyone anything, I just shared what I did. This time , I did not go through a lawyer.
Something similar happened in Oct'05 and the priority dates remain retrogressed for next almost two year. It was just by stroke of fate it became current now , otherwise the situtation would have persisted.
If my memory serve me right, there were some cases back in Oct'05 whose application were rejected in error but were not allow to refile as PD had retrogressed.
Do what you want to do, I am just sharing what I did and I may be wrong. Personally after having missed one window of opportunity in Oct'05 , I have no capability to take any more risk.
I'm also suffering like you for years but doing a RE-FILE just for managing bad odds is not reasonable. If they reject your application - You should be able to resend it from FEDEX/USPS signature and receipt Notice even after Aug 17th.
I'm not a lawyer and i've nothing against Rajaiv Khanna but on a general i'm advising you that " Any lawyer wants their clients case get complicated and convoluted". By doing this you/we are just complicating our case and offering "Money making" potential to already Rich , Wealthy ,Cut throat Lawyers.

It seems every few weeks this discussion of VB predictions come up. Now neither Ron Gotcher nor Murthy nor Matthew Oh (or for that matter even God i think ;) ) can predict what the USCIS cut off dates will be. What is the point in debating whether Ron Gotcher is right or wrong? This is the United States, there is freedom of speech and anyone can say anything especially if it is just a prediction. We can assume a million things here, as to what the VB date should be, but will it be that? No one except the USCIS/DOS can actually confirm that.

I called USCIS customer service regarding the DOB mistake in the AP application.
Here is what they suggested � No need to file another AP or revoke the current application as USCIS already has my correct DOB data based on past applications and they will note the mistake and can match it with the correct one because it is the second time I am applying for AP.
So while sending my documents, I am simply going to add a letter pointing the error in my DOB.

Mine was filed on July 17th at NSC with RD Sep 10th. It got transferred to TSC, I received EAD,AP for me and my wife but havent recd FP. Opened service request 3 weeks back of no avail....:confused:

Sorry... but what kind of a question is that ? You applied for "Permanent" Residence without understanding what it stands for ?
You are not obligated to apply for citizenship if you are a permanent resident.
Does anyone know if its possible to just renew the green-card or one has to apply for naturalization after 5 years?

The difference, my friend, will come about once the DREAM Act passes in its present form. The undocumented child will pay in-state tuition, whereas your child will keep on paying out-of-state tuition. And in 3 years, the former will get premanent residency or GC, whereas your child will still be in the line for H1, EB2/3, at the mercy of USCIS.
So, do support this bill - I am 'so called legal' immigrant, my son is going to university (having H4 visa) but he is treated the same way as illegal sillegaltatus student is treated -- no financial aid is available to my son or in-state tuition fees. Where is the difference?

Filed paper renewal on june 12th, Received card production ordered email today.
Ap was submitted 2 days ago. PD is May 06. Spouse's app was filed same time , no update yet. No FP notices.

Received 2 year EAD card in email. Card is valid from jul 30th 2008 to jul 29th 2010. My PD is current.(May 06). Dont know if this is good news or bad news.

I never saw him talking +ve about legal immgration, he is an anti-immigrant.
Attacking Lou Dobbs will help those who purposefully blur the distinction between legal and illegal immigrants. While Dobbs sometimes talks about H1Bs, his main focus is on illegal immigration and he's mostly sympathetic to legal immigration, in my opinion.

It's really strange the surge in non-legal issues threads..
If the poster had any genuine hope of getting help she wouldn�t be posting it on a forum for foreigners who obviously have no lobbying power and if we did we will be using it for ourselves first.
Somebody is trying to establish an association between us and drug and other law breaking criminals..
Time to put these red dots to a good use.. Get�er boys :)
Lets get over with all the "conspiracy theories", times are tough and people are getting knocked down faster than 10 pins in a bowling ally, IV's brand value is way more than what it use to be, hence traffic/people come in here for redress-els, in no way does the name Immigration Voice directly tell anyone its for Legal based Green Card issues, so people come in here for all and any immigration based issues.
