sent to USCIS Texas on June 29, received on JUly 2nd at 10:25 AM. no receipts and no checks cashed yet. the USCIS receipting notice Texas said that they have finished receipting July 2 appl. what happened to our appl then?
pls anyone who filed july 2 at texas and with the same info who got their cks cashed and receipts rec, kindly share here. tnx!

The reason why EB2 India is moving so fast is because people with 2001 PDs are stuck in BECs. Once they come to apply for I-140/I-485, EB2 India PD will retrogress to 2001 again. So the progress you are watching is an illusion.

On H1b, you are not even supposed to make money via Google Adsense. Even if the money is diverted to your home country you have to quote these earnings on your taxes. H1b visa holder has to quote his/her worldwide income and its unclear if your income in your home country is taxed here be it Adsense income or a business.
No wonder many entrepreneurial ideas either die or are taking roots in Korea, India or China!

After a visa, heaps of paperwork and an extension of the visa after three years � the employer still needs my husband's skills. He also offers his skills to U.S. workers via training. No other experts are available. So, we decided we wanted to stay. Despite legal hurdles, we like it here.
But, for the past year and a half or so, the Department of Labor has stacked applicants in backlog centers to see whether it is true that no U.S. citizen is available for the job. Officials promise a lot, but we are all waiting and waiting.
If the immigration legislation adds some millions of guest workers to that stack, what will happen to us legals?
That's why I was glad to see the commentary �Stingy immigration policy stifles U.S. innovation.� I hope it raises awareness. But couldn't we legal immigrants get the front page for once?

goel I know that, I have already done that twice in previous stampings at Canada. Each time I went a day before to the Scotia branch prior to my appointment. What concerns me is this statement.

My appointment is for Sept 8. To pay MRV fee prior to Sept 1, I need to be physically in Canada at a Scotia bank branch before Sept 1. Today it is Aug 20, and I still havent gotten my passport back in mail yet with Canadian visa stamped on it. My scheduled arrival in Canada is Sept 7 so I can take care of Scotia bank receipt prior to appointment. But their statement says, the fee needs to be paid prior to Sept 1.

What documentation I need to convert from H1 to h4? Do I need to go outside US for this. I'm on H1 and I dont have paychecks since I'm on bench.

Inform the school that you have changed your status to H1 from F1 and need not take class. If needed provide them the H1 approval. Most people forget to inform school and the school will record sevis violation on you which will provide problems at stamping and port of entry.

Sick & tired of this VSC processing time frames, I hope they know what they are doing?
Applied for my H1/H4 (8th year) extension on October 22, 2007 and no approval as of today..not sure how long its going to take in order to approve these H1/H4 extension....my last approved H1 will expire in March 1st week of 2008. (still waiting for 140 approval at TSC).. Drama part-2 starts when ever 140 gets approved and applying for another extension .. oh lord!!
Not sure if VSC is trying to meet processing time frames for these visa extension applications with applicants Date of Birth....:D (I am sure that's what they are trying to do with cases filed in EB2 for 140/485)
oh god!! please give us energy & patience to deal with this processing centers!!

I dont know about what stopped you all from attending. If there is no genuine reason, I really feel sorry for you.
Rally was huge success, there was 1800 to 2000 people. IV has their names, Indians and chinese are the ones who are effected more, thats why we have more from those nations at rally.
The only disoppintment was number, expected 10000 and got only 2000. Otherwise, enthusiasm and the response was really great.

If you need any kind of corrections to your I-94, please visit your local CBP office. Website is www.cbp.gov. On this website search for Deferred Inspection locations and visit the nearest one.
CBP officer will give you new I-94 with the corrected name, I-94 validity date, DOB, class of admission etc...

Hello,
My brother-in-law and sister are both Indian Doctors, having a private practice in INDIA. They would like to apply for visitor's visa.
Any suggestion about the problems they may encounter? Do they have to go on two differrent dates for getting the visa stampped at Chennai?

They can apply together as Husband and wife. They will have to go through the normal procedure for a visitor visa B-2. The important thing will be to prove their non-immigrant intent to the consular officer and that they WILL return to INDIA after their temporary stay.
I would say it is a 50 -50 chance given their profile.

its not very wise to be traveling with so much cash. Why not use traveler cheques or do money transfer?
