Regardless of the incorrect forum to tell about yourself, your story has serious flaws.
you are just telling us your side of a photoshopped story.
Even after you are here illegally, you can correct things and take a legal turn. there are so many cases where people who have overstayed or crossed over illegally, got themselves deported and or brought themselves out of the closet and applied and got their citizenships.
Also, bcos you spent 30 years in the country, you should be given a priority over a kid from your country who kept applying for a green card lottery every year, trying to enter the US legally?
to make matters worse, you stayed illegally in a country and did not follow the rule of law.
1. I am beyond the �waiting for my delayed Green-Card� and �attempting to correct my ilegal status� stage. I am not new to immigration, I�m true to immigration.
2. I am no longer fighting for my rights. I�m OK. I�m in my own country with all rights available to me and am offered a Waiver by the U.S. to visit my friends, family and loved ones when I want. Today I�m fighting for my USC Immediate Relatives� rights from my country. How many of you high&mighty can say that? Probably never will too. You�d have to walk in my shoes and from my view none of you except for 24ps can fit them, though sledge_hammer might have to learn how to walk in them. He/she sounds a lot like me in my smug and cocky drug peddling and trafficking days. Clue, sledge_hammer: The key to expertise does not lie in what you do but in how you do it. Obligating an unrequested personal opini�n on someone is quite negligent and incompetent of a professional. But I guess that�s what�s expected of IV while you�re dug in here, hunh? How unfortunate.
3. You who are new to immigration can probably learn a lot from my case if you weren�t so caught up in your virgin-eared-newbies image. Like anyone�s going to believe that. Pappu, there is nothing wrong in seeking exact clarification though from USCIS because things are not really clear on this regard and its better to get clear cut answer to the immigrant community..

Seems like most of you guys have grudge against Andhrites (GULTIs that you call us with love). Agreed that most ppl who come to this univeristy are from AP. There are about 900 students in this university, but there are thousands of students from AP that are studying in other reputed university. I'm one of them.
I'm not sympathetic towards the ppl who are facing deportation. But i strongly condemn the way they are treated. Tying the tracking devices to their legs and treating them like terrorists is totally inhuman and insane

Receipting is not done by VO and the staff who do receipting follow certain procedures.
USCIS mailroom has certain protocols and thats why even our AC21 documentation does not reach file.
Files are distributed to different officers and they work on the files.
Without a receipt number you cannot track your MTR.
Talk to a very good Attorney on further course of action.
I filed MTR - my 485 was denied because the officer ignored the AC21 job change. When I called customer service and explained - I was transferred to a VO and when I explained it, she requested me to file an appeal so that I don't have to pay instead f MTR.
When I talked to Attorney - she said "Don't do that - when your MTR gets receipted, you can track it but cannot track an appeal"
Remember MTR = if USCIS makes a mistake - MTR costs $$
Appeal = if you want AAO to consider various factors on a correctly interpreted denial and appeal to see if you can convince.

In my earlier post, I dint mean to say that all Kinkos are bad, its just the particular one near me was not good enough. The photos were as if they were taken with a yellow filter on their lenses.
Sears did a very good job instead.
You can just tell them that you need photos for passport. They are the same requirements
Think it this way, your photo might be scanned by their machine to be printed on visa/notice. If the photo is not of good quality it might get pixelated after they scan.
So be your own judge, think if you were in USCIS shoes and had to scan a photo and produce it on visa/stamp. They might also use some image recognition softwares for which they require exact speicifications.
In my case the yellow tinge I got from kinkos exactly matches with the improper color on the website below. So i had to go for other option

Man - U guys love to quibble about stupid things rather than focus on the big picture. All my thread says is - I'm doing X .... Please consider doing it as well if you think it is worth your while ... Thats it - Nothing more - nothing less. And here we're having a discussion about how long I've been a member of IV and yada yada yada ...

I work with corporate lawyers everyday, and yes they are very smart. However, immigration lawyers are the bottom of the barrel.
I have nothing against lawyers, most are hard-working and smart. But that smartness also makes them confuse others and ultimately its the clients who have to pay for the smartness of the lawyers.
I am totally against that.

Your spouse applied for H4/H1? Which one?
Thank you very much Dinesh for this. Currently my spouse's passport is stuck in the same place for god-only-knows-what reason. The embassy staff said they are auditing every 2nd-3rd application. We have the AP but we were thinking that if we withdraw the H1B application, the embassy people might stamp the passport saying "Application Received" which sometimes can be a euphemism for "Visa Denied". I once got such a stamp when visa was denied to me.
Since we would then always have to keep explaining at every stage why we have that stamp, that's why we are sticking on with H1B delay. We have been given the same time-frames as you were.
When you withdrew your passport to travel on AP, did they stamp your passport with any text? Also could you please tell us the procedure you followed to withdraw your passport and whether you could collect it in person? We have been asked to email the US Embassy for withdrawing from our H1B application.

I can scarcely believe it... Although I have to say that it would have been impossible to choose between the two entries. Perhaps this is the fairest result in the end. :)
Actually, I think results from three battles need to be put up - this one, the cartoon characters one and the line art one. Are there any more that haven't had the reults officially put up?

Folks,
Just now i called up USCIS (1-800-375-5283 Option 1,2,2,6,2,2,1) since my App was mailed more than 4 weeks.
The lady who picked up was nice enough to explain me the revised ETA for receipting from 4 weeks to 60 Calendar days. She also said that they generally receipts in 2 weeks (not even 4 weeks) but because of this rush that ETA is set to 60 days. She appreciated all of our anxiety and re-assured me that i dont have to call after 60 days because the receipt will be definitely with me ( if everything is filed correctly as per rules )
One thing i found funny - she explained me that this Rush is just for avoiding the 'Fee Increase' - She has no idea about the Retrogression and stuffs like that :)
