Now, are the lines slanted or straight?

The White vs Black iPhone could be an optical illusion, it depends on angle.

If you can watch an HD movie over your satilite or cable system then somehow the cable or stilite company found a way to electronically distribute the HD content to you. That 25GB of data found a way to get into your house. Not only did it get into the huse but it did it in real time
This is quite different from on-demand hd download. Cable and satellite bandwidth is much greater than traditional internet and it's multicast.
However, for a 25GB movie you only need about a 4 MBPS to stream it (that is, start watching as soon as you start downloading). Most 5-6 MBPS dsl packages are available now for $35/mo, so it doesn't seem that far off.
I think Wal-mart wanted cheaper dvd prices to be more competitive with Target and now Target is trying to get the same treatment. The winning solution is that the studios will probably allow Wal-mart and Target to sell downloadable movies, too, and everyone will be happy except for Wal-mart who will still want cheaper dvd prices.
Truth is, the downloads are less than dvd quality, don't have extras, you need broadband internet and a fast computer or an iPod, and you can't wrap them up and give them as gifts. DVD's will continue to sell well even at a higher price (especially at Wal-mart and Target).

Picked up a 32 gig last night for $399. I had a choice between a 16 gig and the 32 gig. Those were the only two they had left in inventory. I figured since I'm going to be using this for quite a while, I'd go ahead and get the 32. I was glad they had a couple left. :D

Does push-mail actually work this time? In SLS it is supported, but not with an iPhone. iPhone push thus far only works with Exchange, Google or MobileMe.
Thanks!

Considering that nearly all "Pro IT" overwhelmingly used Windows
Their entire careers depend on maintaining an OS that needs constant maintenance. Windows is inherently broken, and an entire industry grew up to take full advantage of exactly that. Too funny.

That "picture" of Jobs at the cancer center is clearly not Steve Jobs. Its so obvious that isn't Jobs that its not even funny. Even though the picture is from behind, Jobs looks like he's quite fine at that table.
Why am I not surprised he's the one sitting right next to President Obama? LOL

During normal use, my new PowerMac has a very consistent and normal sounding hum.
But sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, and when idle and not sleeping, the PM's sound becomes unconsistent and goes up and down in about 10 second intervals.
It will be running, and it will sound like it's about to go to sleep...there will be a slight "click" sound, and then you can hear fans wind down and get quiet...then suddenly it "clicks" again, and the fans wind up and get increasingly louder.
It then continues to do this quiet-to loud-to quiet process indefinitely until I begin using it again.
It sounds like an interchanging powering down, then powering up, kind of thing. It's hard to explain.
It sort of does this (imagine the text below to represent the level of sound):
````````*click*----------..................*click*...........-----------``````````
(not sure if that makes any sense, but it's the best I could do).
It kind've sounds like it's trying to sleep, but doesn't quite get there, then powers up again...waits, then tries again.
I've got it set for my 56k to disconnect at 55 minutes of idle, and my PM to sleep at 1 hour of inactvity. I've noticed since I've had it that neither one has ever happened on its own.
Any help/info/advice is greatly appreciated!
Does anybody else beside me think the launch titles suck?
I was gonna pre-order the 3DS but I don't like any of the games. I'd be buying some random game just to try out a $250 piece of hardware.
You would have to be an absolute Apple-hater to go to Best Buy, play with both the iPad 2 and the Xoom (both currently on display for play) and come away thinking the Xoom was a better product. Go compare them yourselves side-by-side (well, they are about 15 feet apart at my Best Buy) and decide for yourself. For me, the iPad is still the clear leader in both fit & finish, screen (off-angle viewing) and simplicity-user friendliness of OS. And the Apps availability really seals the deal if you want to consider what you will actually do with the hardware once you get it home.
Don't be so ignorant.
I can't answer your specific question other than to say I'm running Logic 9 on a MBP, 2.66 i7, 8 GBs. I'm running 50+ tracks of virtual instruments, with a lot of FX. My samples are all installed on a separate drive, but I'm not even getting a hiccup with playback. Smooth as silk.
I struggled for a while to think of anything I own which is made in the USA but just remembered my mountain bike has a titanium frame made in Washington (though it's Canadian branded) and forks made in California. :)
Only sysops can delete pages. If you want to create a test category I can delete it when you're done with it.
Alright, thanks for the offer, however it looks like Eraserhead already confirmed what I was thinking so I don't think there's a need to create a test one anymore to confirm myself.
Unfortunately iDisk is as slow as buggery, and always has been. Apple have done nothing to improve performance.
The new webmail interface is nice but thats it - a face lift, no new functionality.
You could but a "Name (Appear in From: )" for email aliases. Before it was the email alias. Not a big wow, but new.
To squash some WinTel people in this forum/post trying to say Windows scales better than UNIX.
Spec of a Sun machine running UNIX.
Key Specifications:
Up to 106 UltraSPARC III Cu 900-MHz processors.
Big memory - more than 1/2 TB.
Up to 18 fifth-generation Dynamic System Domains, which are fully configurable while applications are running.
Hot-swappable Uniboard design CPU/memory boards that are common across Sun Fire server family.
Redundant, high-performance Sun[tm] Fireplane Interconnect with up to 172.8 GBps peak bandwidth.
Full redundancy of power and cooling systems.
Oh yeah! OS X is UNIX also. Hmmm.
Single CPU vs. Multi CPU. Who cares?
Macs are the whole package.
Nuff said!
From the video there looks like there is a lot of space between the front and back plates and the metal part....perhaps this is a converted iPhone 4 as this is not present on black ones,,,,a bad conversion at that.......:(
