Hello,
I do some download in my app where some of the data are images. In my app I save this data and create uiimages object where needed. Everything works fine so far. My problem is:
I have a custom tableViewCell class and in this class I have a UIImageView defined. No matter which size I set to this Uiimageview, the image put into it gets the height of the tablecell. I have tried to change the viewMode for the cell uiimageview content but without any luck so far. What can I do to actually get the images to be displayed with the size of the uiimageview it is added into...?
The images is created like this:
NSFileManager *fileManager = [[NSFileManager alloc]init];
UIImage *imgToUse = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:[fileManager contentsAtPath:[dict objectForKey:@"data_path"]]];
[fileManager release];
After this the images is saved into a dictionary and in the table delegate method - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)t cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
the image is added to the imageView, like this:
cell.imageView.image = [[self.imageDict objectForKey:@"some key here"];
Any Ideas? I do not understand why the cell height controls the image height? What am I doing wrong?

Does anyone else find it really really really weird that Apple would announce it today and an airline that is mentioned is denying that a deal was even close to fruition? Someone got their lines crossed/translations screwy I think. Sheesh.:confused:

A hint that people should relax on all the war talk.
Companies doesn't have to be at war just because they have similar products aimed at roughly the same markets. There's a huge difference between competitors and enemies. Between competition and war.
Most companies actually consider competition to be a good thing. Personally I want both Apple and Google to succeed. Both are innovators. I depend on their products on a daily basis. I use Googles stuff on Apples stuff to learn more about both Apples stuff and Googles stuff.

It's a companion device
Personally I would have found it very handy during my studying years, purely due to the form factor and diary/ notepad functions.
Not to mention textbooks! If could have all my textbooks and journal articles collated on one device where I could easily read them reclined and at my leisure I would be incredibly grateful! Not to mention the device's usefulness as a presenting tool, much nicer than lugging a laptop around.
For any individual in academia I would imagine those would be three huge selling points.

Try updating windows 7 through windows update. Make sure you have the lastest updates for Windows 7. I had this problem too, but after I updated everything, it worked like a charm. No shutdown issues.

At this point ill believe it when I see it. I think that the only thing all these Darn rumors asy is how mcuh everyone in general would love an apple phone. done right, an iphone could easily replace most peoples phones and ipods. add into it, home on ipod, and I see a winner. but this is all speculation... ill belive it when i see it

Wouldn't it be lovely if the new iPhones ship with 32 gb (as the base phone) and 64 gb (as the higher capacity phone)?

:DI fully expect this. With a bump for the $99 iPhone to 16 GB. There's no reason not to do this. In fact, I think it was more or less confirmed that the only reason the iPhone 4 wasn't 64 GB had to do with some kind of patent issue or supply constraints due to anticompetitive practices (I forget exactly), which made the chips too scarce for production.
As for the Expose prototype, I agree with others. I think they dumped this multitasking interface because using the App icon made more sense given screen space limitations.

Everyone has been complaining so much about the current Macs being so far behind the Pentiums and AMD processors in speed. In actuality the new 1.25ghz Dual G4 is the 3rd fastest consumer PC in the market. It almost matches the fastest AMD processor and is just slightly behind Intels PIV 2.8 ghz machine. All studios, rather music or movie have always hated the idea of selling content even though it makes them a ton of money. If they could do away with all of it, including DVD sells, they would. What they truly want is for you to pay a fee every time you want to view or listen to content and you never "own" anything period. Nothing physical at all to buy, just pay for it every time you view or listen.

I can confirm that SATA drives run at full speed now in WindowsXP.
You got this from the update? Does this mean we no longer need to slipstream the drivers to get XP to recognize the drives at normal speed?
Having to deal with the slow drives is keeping me from installing Windows. If the update makes that easier, I might go for it. I'll probably put Windows on it's own drive and then boot off it.

sorry, but I will never put a case on my iPhone. It was made to look sexy as it is, naked.

It looks like everyone else has covered the basics. The bottom line is: Don't Worry. You'll do fine.
As best I can remember, all of my experiences with anesthesia have been of the IV persuasion. The medicine feels warm going in, and when counting backwards from 100, I rarely make it past 96. ;)
Like others have said, when you wake up, one of your first sensations will be to wonder: "Well, when are we going to get started?" You will almost certainly say some goofy things to the nurse or whoever's monitoring you; don't worry, they're used to it.
You really do need to arrange for someone to take you home. There's no way I'd try to manage a cab ride home while still "under the influence." Even though the hospital's released you, you'll still likely be a little loopy for awhile. And you will sleep a good while once you get home.
I don't remember if anyone's said this, but if you're a little anxious about the anesthesia, they can give you something to calm you down beforehand. They did this for me once when my doc was running late (tied up in a prior surgery) and my procedure was postponed a little bit. The delay gave me a little more time to get worried about things, and so they gave me a shot of something that didn't knock me out, but did help me to relax. wdlove probably knows what I'm talking about.

It posts wall posts, private messages, invitations, the lot. I hate that app on Facebook. I have it blocked now.
How do you block farmville? It's annoying me the amount of posts I get a day from people who've found a sparkly pure egg or a wounded badger. I'd love to not have all that guff clogging up my iPhone screen.
I am having similar issues with notification sounds in that I get none. Not too fussed but would be nice if it did exactly what it said on the tin.

I don't buy it. What a nightmare that would be if just touching that area of the iPod took you back to the home screen. (Even the MacBook trackpads require a physical 'click' in order to register.) This would be a usability disaster.
Couldn't agree more. While I like that Apple strives to get rid of buttons, I think that there ought to be an exception in a case like this. Besides, it's a total usability plus to have the ONLY button take you home.
