Alright, perhaps the second time I was going there just to see what I could see, I'll admit that. The other time however was my friend's first time to that mall (yes runninmac) since the Apple Store opened, and he did want to look at iPods, which took him a whole 5 minutes.
I see what you all are saying, but it makes me sound like some sort of predator or something. I haven't gone in drooling and grunting all while starring at her. It takes two to make eye-contact you know, and it wasn't a creepy sort of thing, just a passing glance from a decent ways away. I didn't see her and suddenly start moving her way or anything, it was just a look. The story was outlined as such solely because I was bored, so I put a little more thought into the story than perhaps I should have....I am not obsessed with her, and if she is reading this then she can read that....I would easily pass her by I just thought she was cute and it caught me off guard that she would say hi to me outside of her paid-to-talk place of employment.
Anyway, I only go there when I go to the mall, and only because it is the easiest store to relax in for a short while if I need a break from actual shopping, because there is a ton of eye-candy (computer wise) that I can wish for and play with. There is some confusion I don't understand. These push notifications will barely use any battery because most of the work is done on some servers on Apple's end of the equation. It's not the same as the app running in the background to notify you of pushed stuff. I've been getting notifications from AP, CNN and MSNBC for a while without noticing any battery issues. The whole point of Apple's push notification server was to conserve battery life.
I just got a couple of notifications while typing this. It just shows up like a text message would while your phone is in standby and will put a badge on the Facebook icon. The sound is also the same as SMS.
This is a very good addition. Now if TweetDeck could just add that.

I've gone under anesthesia twice now, once under general anesthesia for a broken and dislocated arm, and on the other under a peridural for the removal of a pilonidal cyst directy above my tailbone (not nice).
I'll tell you straight away the general anesthesia was MUCH worse. I was about 12 at the time, and it was all pretty smooth throughout. Don't try to cheat while fasting, otherwise you'll almost certainly throw up. I stayed under observation for about two days, and it was worth it. When I was told I could walk, I went to the bathroom with some help from a nurse to take a bath (or at least rinse a little) and fainted (the only time in my life). I woke up a little later on the bed, still a little dazed. After that it was hard to keep food or drinks down, too. I'm absolutely certain it was the anaesthesia, since I was only on paracetamol and I have NEVER had ANY problem with that, and I have migraines once every two or three days (genetic thing).
During the cyst operation, which happened in january of this year, the peridural was smooth. I was given something to make me sleepy, since I told the anaesthesiologist it would be boring and I'd be annoying him with questions about how everything was going "down there". I could "walk" fine after I laid on my gurney for a couple of hours, though you have to remember that a surgeon had just removed all the tissue above my tailbone. First time I had ever seen a nurse I deemed "hot as hell".
Anyway, yeah. Good times. Oh, and both were IV. According to my father, who is a surgeon himself, gas is hardly used nowadays, and the main reason for it to be used is if the person does NOT want needles. If its general, you'll probably be woozly later and feel light-headed, although it might be local for you, I'm not sure. It seems scary to be awake while someone is cutting you with a scalpel, but you really feel nothing at all. For kicks, get someone to film you when you wake up, it can get really funny. :p

The question is, do you want that type of control hovering overhead for a gadget that would make life easier? If someone had a million dollar motorcycle made for you but later they said, I get to watch you wherever you go. And you were uneasy about it, but loved the speed and the adrenaline rush of the ride and said to yourself "well I'll be obeying the speed limit anyway" so you let it go and kept the bike. Soon you found out they weren't just watching you when you were riding, they watched you wherever the bike was. Therefore, regardless of speed limit and adherence to the law, you were still monitored. A little creepy huh? Lol. :D

You could do with a crash course in Economics, not that I agree with what they are trying to achieve.
I am not saying no one should produce children. I am just saying its not the job of the government to make sure people are only cranking out units when they are "ready". Its called personal responsibility. If you get knocked up, deal with it. It's usually your own fault. Maybe your parents should have taught you to keep your pants on. It's not up the the government to teach you these things.

Had that combo. I loved the air 11 but sorry, 3 hours of movie watching and it's ko'ed. I'm not watching a movie or reading my books on the iPhone either. Still unable to kill my pad's battery.

Word at best buy Stonebriar was sellout. BUT, they were letting people that would sign up for a credit card skip ahead in the line. This from a guy that was line with me at stonebriar mall while his wife ran over there after apple ran out of 3G models.

I agree. The most problematic components in a computer in general are the mechanical ones, and at this point, the only mechanical component that most likely will never be removed is the fan. Mobile devices on the other hand have even done away with that. These are interesting times. I rarely ever use the optical drive anymore, in fact, I have not used it in months... There is simply no reason to. Virtually all software is available online via the mac app store or some site somewhere, and the only things i use the drive for anymore are OS restores from time machine. If Apple were to provide a restore partition with the default install of Lion, then that would be it. No more DVD drive.

Very skillful in how Jobs face and legs are hidden. Im beginning to think the newspapers are right about his condition.
Also, pretty tasteless to dress the way he does. I'm not a fan of Obama, but if I were to meet him and sit next to him for dinner, I would respect the office enough not no dress in freakin' turtle neck.

EF-s lenses produce smaller image circles. So they are lighter (and cheaper) than a comparable EF lens would be. That's it.
Note the focal length is always the focal length. A 50mm lens still has a 50mm focal length on a 1.6 crop camera. It has a different effective field of view, but that's not the same thing.
Also note this has been going on forever: a 50mm lens on a medium format camera (obviously with a bigger image circle) as a different field of view that it does on a "full frame" camera.

On the one hand he is right.
I work in IT, and the iPad to me is just a novelty toy.
I have one an use it for just 2 things(reading the newspaper and watching movies on the train to my work). And for just those 2 things it is rather expensive.
On the other hand the thing I liked the most about OS X, is that is able to be used hardcore-IT people(thanks to being a UNIX) and complete noobs. And this is something I miss in the iPad(for the iPhone I don't care, i have an SSH-app in case of emergency when I'm not near a computer and that's it.
Making couchbrowsers(cause thats what iPads are mostly used for) for non-tech people is good.
But I just hope they still care about tech-savy people in OS X.

You pretty much can't see anybody's legs cuz they're are all under the table. Yes, very skillful photography there! And what about the guy sitting to the left of Steve Jobs? We can't see his face either! What is he trying to hide?

I expect that 10.4.8 will be required for Aperture 1.5 (as OS updates are normally required to add RAW support for new cameras). A post on another forum (arstechnicas iirc) by someone who was at Photokina and had talked to someone from Apple said that Aperture 1.5 was scheduled to be available for download at the end of the show (October 1st)...

There is only a finite amount of water available within the Earth ecosystem an only a percentage of that is available for drinking at any given time. A far greater volume is used for agriculture to grow food for human consumption.
We could all sell our iPhones and Macs right now and donate the cash to a charity of your nomination but it wouldn't change the volume of water available within the Earth ecosystem.
The problem isn't wasteful spending of money. The problem is that Earth does not have enough water to support 7 billion human mouths.
Are these white iPhones genuine. Thought Foxconn would just eliminate employees who stole.
