There are ppl who moved 2 or 3 months after getting GC and have got their USC

I went through the entire thread, i did not find any cases of people who had never used AC 21 and who left their employers right after 485 approval.
To be very specific, we need clarification on what the consequences are of leaving the sponsoring employer right after getting the GC esp people who never used AC21 and have been with the sponsoring company for several years before getting the GC.

well this is your time. with eb3 row 2009, you probably are in wait for at least 5 years. Anyway the point is, no country would be stupid enough to stop great talent from coming through to satisfy it's diversity policy. When you are talking about 0.14 million immigrants for a nation of 300 million, that's less than 0.05%. So please take your diversity argument with you and don't let the door hit you on your way out. For this miniscule percentage, the US will lose out on thousands of the best Indian and Chinese engineering/science talent. US's loss, India/China's gain. If this is not an example of an extremely stupid strategic policy then I'm not sure what is.

I have question i'm planning to use ac21 ,but my current labor certification jon title code is 15-1031 (computer sepcialist engineer -Oracle) but my new job is DBA (application development -Oracle ) But the nature of the job responsibilites are same but i believe the Job code may change b'cos of the Title.
Do you think will this be a problem if i use AC21.
Your inputs will be greatly appreciated.

I think Meera Shankar needs to be fired. Its bloody 2010 and this is the kind of customer service the indian consulates provide - they dont pick up calls - it takes them a month to issue new passports - Always feel ashamed to be an indian any time I have to deal with these useless consulates.

They change this number later in the year, since some of the FB visa allocated are retruned back to the pool (if the person getting GC does not enter the country in specified time).
They allocated a huge chunk of EB2 Visa to South Korea 7125 (currnet all through the year). Same with EB3 SK got 4727 (close to sum of India and China).
So i agree things will move slower this year but still move forward. We will not see an EB2/3 India/China Current any time soon unless they screw-up again like july 07.

guys cool down it took them till end of May about 2 months to issue all receipt notices for H1 filed on Apr 2 this year. With the whole yes-no-yes situation this month they are definitely backlogged. Lets just wait till we actually get the receipts .

Ok, I've seen a lot of threads about go to the rally, actions items, I've reading a lot of guys saying dont ask for your receipt status, dont waste your time etc, etc.
Yes we did the rally we were great with all those signs, and appearing in the Indy TV but...
Question remains open:
1. When are they going to increase the GC quota?
2. When congress id going to do something?
I've the feeling that that's it we made our point but we are still with no GC, waiting receipts..............
Q. So. What is the result after the Rally?

Even as it stands RIGHT NOW without the "New AC21 Rules", you cannot use AC21 unless your I-140 is approved. The basic principle of AC21 is "If your I-140 is APPROVED AND your I-485 application has been pending for more than 180 days" you can switch jobs and not lose anything.
Wasnt it I-140 approved or approvable ? Or am I missing something ? :confused:

I don't have the necessity to postpone I have filed mine long time back. Iam glasd Atleast 40% agrees to my idea who care about others .. i just need 20% more to get the majority :cool: I would appreciate if we can all focus on the real problem rather than individuals.

Folks, I have in the past written to Lou Dobbs directly expressing concerns with his vitriolic outbursts against Indians. He responded at length claiming the he has no disrespect or disregard for India, just that he cares about his country so much that relatively it might make the other country look worse off!
Here is what I would suggest: write to Lou and CNN producers exposing
how Lou's views:
- Are racially insensitive, slanderous to an entire community; with the risk of flaming hate crime (which is criminal offence)
- How they ignore the basic economic reality of high skilled labor's contribution and competitive advantage to the US economy and corporations
- How they ignore the basic legal reality that high skilled labor on H1B visas pay taxes, social security and medicare that goes back to the US economy
- How they tarnish the reputation of hardworking ambituous workers that are truly the only remaining link to the USA's hoary tradition of sweat equity with the hope of achieving the Great American Dream.
Basically, we need to point out that he is insulting his own country's grand traditions of democratic, legal and meritrocratic traditions by taking potshots at a defenseless community of white collar workers that are strengthening the social, economic and cultural fabric of this nation.
Of factual inaccuracy is his hallmark and his tradition. Let us counter that by reframing the context of the overall dialog so that the world see how shallow Lou Dobbs really is.

Thanks for the good work. However, I saw a major potential flaw in estimating the applications from ROW. The report finds the life cycle for a ROWer to submit 485 is 1 year, thus assuming little AOS applications will be filed in the coming year from ROW. But this analysis forgot to consider those ROWers who started GC in year 2008. A person who started working in 11/2008 is ready to submit 485 now and uses one quota, even if a person who just started working won't be able to submit AOS till a year from now. With this under consideration, I feel the spillover will be much less than initially estimated.
Please correct me if I missed anything.
Good observation, but the economy wasn't good in 2008 either and most of the time both PERM centers were closed for business. Chicago was closed in mid year and Atlanta wasn't working from late 2007 till early 2009.

Pappu it is sad situation. I know of one Junior who I myself hired for the job and who is 4 yrs my Junior and reports to me get green card because he is EB3 but not India/China
