For me, my AP was approved (along with my wife and daughter) on Oct 1st 2006. My Notice date is Sept 10th. The LUD on AP was 10/04, which said that the approval was "mailed" on 10/02. Hwoever I recd it on 10/20 and I could see that it was mailed on 10/19 from USCIS office. So, atleast for APs, even the status shows that it's been approved and mailed as well, it seems that it's not the case. It's been taking couple of weeks to get them in hand. Hopefully this info helps some people who are still waiting for APs.
I also took an Infopass appt, as we didn't recv FP notices yet. I opened a SR, but nothing so far. It looks that I may not get before I go to infopass next week.

My spouse is landing here on Aug 15. That leaves only one day to get medicals done. Any suggestions on how to handle this ? Can she skip skin test and take X-rays directly ?
If you talk to your medical office in advance to see that if they can give report in one day then it could be possible. Also you may consider your wife to get all vaccination in advance from the place where she is staying currently. Can't she prepone her trip by 1-2 days?

What is EVL, is it experience letter.
No It's Employment Verification Letter which is supposed to be issued by your current employer stating that you are still their employee, earning this much at this title bla bla. Experience letter is something which shows your experience, the number of year worked in the company. Moreover, experience letter (EXPL) is needed for the old companies.
As far as I know, in I-485 you need just EVL and not EXPL.

Thanks Pappu and IV for doing this. Maybe this should come with a big disclaimer that this is just a prediction and nobody can predict how USCIS\DOS behaves on a day to day basis, therfore dont put any weight or hopes on this projection, otherwise this will turn into the infamous prediction from VDLRAO who claimed Eb2 India will be current in a year. The year has gone by and Eb2 India is not even clearing Jan 05.

I sent i140 papers and money in feb 2007 to my company. in april i went to india and came back in May. in May when i asked the recieved number of i 140 filing to my company then they told me to wait for 2 week and after 2 week when they gave me recpt number, i checked online i saw following message.
"
Current Status: Case received and pending.
On May 16, 2007, we received this I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. ..................
"
looks like my company sent paper to USCIS in may not in march or april. is that currect? is the USCIS receipt date is the i140 filing date and gc cut off date if CIR bill passes? please throw some light on this.

Looks like we are all frustrated, and it is proving beyond doubts.:(
It is best to wait for USCIS to announce this. If this is going to be true, then lots of people who had the hopes of applying for their I140 is just gone.

I do not think there 100K people in 2006+2007 PD. Thats a wild assumption. There is only 65k quota. I think 30K or 40K labor approvals during 2 years makes more sense to me.

It is not true that Many people have to wait 10+ years to get gc. May be some people might wait for 10 years because of frequent change of jobs , layoffs and also ignorance of green card processing. Most of the time EB2 waiting time is 2 to 3 years. Indian EB3 is in worst situation but only for past 2 years and before that everything was current. For that also most waiting persons filed I 485 because of July VB issue. In my opinion EB3 PD will be backdated up to 5 years.
Also there is no legistrative activity in Congress about any immigration issue. Always skil bill comes in limelight when congress is in Session. But everyone knows that skil bill is asking too much in H1b and immigration numbers because of exemptions and it will be very difficult task. But no one in pro immigrant community is ready to compromise on numbers. When Congress tries to curb the abuse of H1b even pro immigrants are opposing the bills without any suggestion of any alternatives. If some bill comes for only GC that too moderate increase in numbers that will have bright chance of passing in congress.
You should not expect any rally will produce meaningful reform. It has to be proved that additional immigrant and H1b numbers will produce more jobs and it should not create unemployment in americans.Just sufferings of gc waiters is not enough. My opinion is Rally will be used to show strength of IV and may educate public and Congress. But anti immigrants also doing Similar Campaign(not big rallies) by negative points of immigration. The same congress till the end of 2008 and I doubt they will consider any immigration issue till new congress comes in 2009 that is not too far from now. But it is always good to try all the time.
Before any reform comes most IV members may get GC.
This has been talked over and over. If you feel that the wait times are not INDEFINITE, great. Please go ahead, lean back and relax. If you know everything about whats going to happen, why even bother about Immigration issues or IV? Its not about showing off muscle. Wake up! Its about different people from different categories and countries stuck in a totally capricious system. Its about the system, arcane and antique law. Its not about any one particular person's PD, his/her category/country. There are people who are in EB2 with PD's 2002 and have not got their GC yet. Dream on and Smoke what ever you want.

The majority of the USCIS system is based on regulation, not law. The same goes for DOL. Many lawyers have argued that the entire LC/PERM system was created by administrative fiat i.e. it goes way beyond what is laid out in the law.
Having said that, it doesn't appear the the DoJ or DHS will make any changes in their byzantine regulations unless forced by Congress. Consider AC21 which is a law that was made effective >5 years ago but has still not been codified into USCIS regulations!
