USCIS decided to take our $604 and give me an my wife APs in 9 days! They seem really efficient when they have to take money from us. But really slow when they have to approve GC applications (EB2, PD of Dec 2004). USCIS just seems to be interested in 'extortion' payments to employ USCIS staff - more a lawless mafia than a organization upholding the law!

I know most of the ppl file EAD and AP along with I-485, but is it possible to file EAD and AP at a later time and not with I-485.
I know it's a stupid idea but just curious whether we can do that or not?
Also is the filing of EAD and AP also ties with your PD being current ?

I do not have any number in Beneficiary box.

Well, I am no lawyer, but IMHO, it should not be an issue. Several people have posted comments regarding the A# and have found that some have it, some don't.
There is a post somewhere that explains different types of A#. I am still a bit fuzzy on this.

The real message in this thread is that you should check what is required by the countries you intend to transit BEFORE you buy your ticket.
It seems to me that an individual should take responsibility for his own actions rather than trying to blame a particular country for a long established requirement for a transit visa.
Maybe you can help the Brits to add more questions to their Transit Visa form from 111 to 1011.

Please unite to help the Green card Immigration issues be resolved. I am planning to send 3 letters from my house...One for me, my wife and my son.....writing directly to the President.

I-94s are submitted at the airport when you leave the country. In many cases there are no I-94s coz they have been submitted and no one thought of making copies of them before travelling out of country. I am sure I dont have all the I-94s that I ever used. I submitted them at the airport when I went out and didnt make copies.
I think it must be ok if you dont have all of them. Can anyone advise if that's the case?

Guys do not feed the freeloaders by telling anything you are reading in the donor forum. Let these people help themselves by signing up for recurring contributions if they want helpful nformation about their EB2 PD movemement. We are still not meeting of our advocacy day amount. It is all because most people want free lunches. This needs to stop. The 200 people going to DC tomorrow are going to speak for you and me for yours and mine greencard. They are taking time off and spending own money for you and me. Nothing is free in this world. IV is also doing this for you and me and we are taking it for granted. Isn't it part of her job? There is nothing like being servant. Moreover, it was just asked to rinse the bottle with hot water, to be sure it is hygenic, in a circumstances when baby was making tantrums. Another reason for asking was because bathrooms were full, otherwise there wouldn't have been a need. We have travelled many other airlines, and there was never an issue for such requests. Many airlines go extra mile to please you. It is what is called customer service.
I don't understand why is it hard or degrading? Maybe then they are not supposed to serve you a cool cup of water at your seat as well. Is that demeaning as well on part of her job?
no its not part of her job. I know a stewardess, and this exactly the part she dislikes about her job. people think its her job to attend to all little demands of the passengers.
She has two duties on the plane, in order:
- safety of the passengers. this is #1.(ensuring luggage is stowed, seatbeats are on, people are not wandering around the aisles; co-ordinate and help in case of emergencies)
- basic service (serve food, clear the trays, handle simple requests like juice/water, ice barfbags etc). This does not include cleaning out your babies bottles. Some airlines have stewardesses who would go out of their way (I have seen Singapore Airlines do this) but again, rinsing a baby's bottle is NOT part of her job. She can get you a bottle of hot water if you want and you can rinse it yourself either in the sink or into the barf-bag.

hmmm.. i had noticed that for couple of persons whose approval was done early got their passport immediately but in you case it is not true!! :confused: so I guess it is difficult to decide any pattern.. (i am not sure whether it is related to H1 approval of any specific center.. if we decide some template and ask everyone to post all such details that might help but i am not sure whether everyone will follow that template...) was there anything complex in your case which you think might have caused this problem?
my H1 approval was done in April 2007 and I have my appointment in Feb 1 st week. I will post my details as soon as my interview is done.. Good luck to you..

This is 2008.. Both JE and MBA are thinking that they will get their GC in 2009...
Meanwhile they start arguing.. and many like them join their verbal-struggle..
Because of this, IV community is divided.. Earlier only 200 people used to respond to action items .. now because of the rift only 100 do... this weakens the momentum that the campaign had..
Meanwhile, NumbersUSA et all increased their efforts..
Anti-immigration forces are united and under their pressure all the EB relief bills fail...
Election is close USCIS shifts the focus to FB visas..
EB backlog, retrogression goes up..
JE and MBA still fighting their verbal fight... in same line.. still fighting with words... with few more years added to their wait-time.

This is not about forcing USCIS into doing anything. The sole purpose of this is to bring awareness in mainstream media(and in doing so the american public) to the need of reform in american immigration system for skilled migrants. Immigration reform is not just reforming illegal immigration but this is one of our chances to put focus on legal employment-based immigration.

Why should I be embarrassed about protesting how sheer incompenet USCIS/DOS decision making is on this visa bulletin fiasco? about how my tax dollars and my application fees are spent by these departments?
Infact for people to be coming out of thier little cubicles to protest on something they feel is injustice says something about how embarrassed the government bodies should be about thier failure in doing their job. I have no shame in expressing an injustice done to me.

My PD is Jan 2006(been living here since 99). When Visa bulletin became current, my only expectation from it is that my wife can start working on EAD. I don't think anyone who was planning to apply for 485/EAD/AP based on the old july bulletin realistically expected that they would get their greencard in few months. This outrage is only that USCIS/DOS couldn't keep their house clean in how to solve the unused visa numbers and insensitively moved the dates forward and then backward causing emotional strees and hole in our bank balances. They did us wrong and might do it again.

Exactly that is now 2006-2007 PD guys are expecting to happen a miracle, right? I mean, apply 485,EAD ASAP.
If you guys really care about 2002-2003-2004 guys, then please please wait for OCT 07 bulletin and after that you can do anything you want. If they will retrogress the dates, then please fight but not before that.

Question is that there are so many July 2 filers (including me) who have not got any response yet. Therefore, it is not an isolated case. I don't know if emailing to the Director does any good, as long as USCIS keeps admitting that they have not yet sent all receipts (inspite of weekly bulletins). Until 90 days are over, I guess, USCIS will be unresponsive to individual inquiries.

Because you still need a visa to enter the USA (though you have an H-1B approval) and application for the visa abroad is not always easy.

Where did I say that american's gave better advice than desis. I was just trying to compare mentality of two diff community for a same situation.
I m not asking for personal opinion as to how u feel when someone foreclose.I m asking for an advice as to what r the consequences
When you ask for advice, you need humility. Not call others stupid, when it looks like you made the same mistake. You bought a home which you were in no safe position to afford. There are people who didn't buy because they saw what was coming. Can these guys call you stupid because you didn't see what was coming? I am far from getting one myself but have seen colleague's approvals - this is printed on the same form like the H1 approval. Whether you subsequently need a stamp on the passport I don't know.
