From the interview:
"I had a guy come up to me, in my face, saying, 'You think you're so cool? You're not cool' and I'm saying to him, 'Dude, it's a commercial.'"
Anyone else from england think of Michael Winner when they read this bit? :D

Interesting to hear you say that -- I use the Oyster RFID card for public transport here in London, and it's incredibly efficient. Compared to paper tickets, it's faster to use, faster to pay for, and much more durable.
Would be great to have this built into my iPhone...
EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oyster_card#Usage_statistics to see just how massively popular RFID technology is here. Only 4% of Tube users use cash, the rest use RFID for their journeys!
If there's one nation running towards a surveillance state it's the UK. Even the Information Commissioner agrees. What's worse is the UK Home Office has successfully proselytised this to the Dwarf Commander In Chief Sarko who has promised to spend literally billions to emulate the UK here in France.

yeah, but in the end you have a dell "dude". for what its worth, I am very very happy with my mac, I just will not buy a new one until they again are the fastest in the world.
all my PC friends constantly are reformatting their drives, worried about viruses etc
OSX is the best out there, even my tried & true PC friends know it...

You do understand that it's not that they're adopting them as their primary system for day to day use, but rather they're purchasing more because (with the slight increase in popularity of the OSX platform) they have to be able to counter said OSX threats.
They're mirroring the increased OSX hacker population. This isn't really anything for any Apple fanboi to be proud of.
Someone recently said Windows is a house with bars in a bad neighborhood and OSX being a house without locks in the country.
That being true, the FBI is just reacting in the expected manner to the increasing the number of criminals in the country (due to the increased number of country houses).
What a bunch of crap.

Kodak's stock is up 11.5% today. (as a result of this news?)
I'm not sure I know what I'm talking about here but their Market capitalization is 938.40M which is, obviously, less that 1 billion.
Maybe Apple, RIM, and whomever else is on their targeted list should just buy Kodak and pool the camera patents.

I think the white iPhone looks a little ugly. The white looks somehow cheap...
I totally agree. Why anyone would hold out for that color and why Apple spent so much time trying to get that white paint to work properly is beyond me.

Alright, here we go Apple: I *will* buy a 13" MacBook Air on the day of the next refresh if it can have:
- Core i5 processors
- SD card slot (oops)
- backlit keyboard
- integrated 3G/LTE
- 10-hour battery life to match the iPad
A tall order, of course, but one can hope.
Hey Apple: I'll still buy one even if you don't quite manage to fit in the last two (but please try to increase battery life anyway).

^ Yeah, how about voicemail? If its that important they'll leave a message. Shoot sometimes I even turn off my cell *GASP!* Dude, you need to go camping once in a while and get away from the world.
In my opinion, I don't think the "iPhone" will have more than 1GB just so that it wouldn't affect the sales of the lower capacity Nanos (the shuffle is an exception because its tiny and has a relatively lower concept).

the patent was granted in 1997 and basically covers previewing the picture on the little LCD screen.
i remember around that time i saw some professional photographers with $10,000 kodak digital cameras that had that feature. very cool for that time when digital cameras were still new

Just to clarify...do I need to reinstall XP now after the EFI update or should the speed be correct now?
I have a feeling a reinstall is necessary ...
You should not have to reinstall XP - it should be enough to update the XP driver package with Apple's latest drivers from the dual boot package.
The only way that you'd need to reinstall would be if Apple made some huge changes in the way the devices configure - so huge that XP is unable to boot using the existing drivers.
(That's unlikely, but since dual boot is beta software, Apple may have realized that they'd made a huge mistake, and only an incompatible fix was reasonable.)

Hm?
The word "Podcast" is derived from iPod, of course, but the CONCEPT of podcast is not inherently ipod-related. Because of that, it inherently dilutes the iPod trademark.
You can't trademark a CONCEPT, the thing you would be looking for there is a PATENT (God forbid).

I bet it will be a 15" MacBook
Ditto, and the 13.3" MBP will be out sometime in the first half of '07.
And I'm not being sarcastic. Apple should offer a 15" notebook for less than 2 grand.

And it begins.
I suspect we'll see a few more announcements in the near future - all meant to kick the Zune's butt. :D
No kidding!! iPod integration in airplanes!??! The iPod connector is becoming as much of a standard as a headphone jack is.
