The amount of stupidity in this thread is mind-blowing. Don't want people to know where you are? Don't check in. It's so simple.
By default, your friends can check you in to any location - whether you're there or not.
That's where the real privacy concern is coming from.
It's one thing if YOU put your location out to the world, but it's another thing entirely when your friends can do it (and I'm sure many would do that, quite innocently).

anyone have info on that "carbon design decal" case for ipad2 at the end.
It's on their site but in another colour, they do the same case with wood instead of carbon fibre, the leather case designed to work with the smart cover looks pretty good IMO

Though it would be lovely to have Aperture on the iPad to cover my hobby needs but it would require some from of local wireless storage access as i don't think many 25MB images would fit on 64GB.
Yeah, only a couple 1000 25MB pictures would fit on a Ipad 64GB, not near enough. :rolleyes:

Are there options to enable Open Directory Services, NFS, Software Update Server, XGRID? Also, are the Server Admin and Workgroup Manager tools included or replaced with something else?
I'm reading mixed things all over the web on what's gone and what isn't.

There are options for software update server, (im sure but might be wrong that there are some improvements on this for server and clients). theres the xgrid manager (haven't got it set-up)
Didn't notice NFS and believe it or not but am totally confused with the OD Service, I carnt find an option/setting for it but it has to be there.

I got a Nexus One on T-Mobile. My bill with 500 minutes (free nights and weekends) unlimited text, data plus taxes and fees comes to $65. Compare this to an AT&T plan and you pay more for just phone (less minutes). I would switch to the iPhone as soon I as can have it on my plan.

depends on who you are. my bill with 500 more minutes and rollover, 1500 text and unlimited data is only $7 more than yours. of course I have had my voice plan for almost 8 years
and tmobile is simply awful

He is perfectly right, the iPad apeals to the people who need something easy to use. Many people who don't know how to use/take care of there computer find there computer breaking (at least with a pc). People download things let there computer go to hell; folders,sub folders, clutter, and death lol. Even tho people do that with iPads too it won't break and it is an easy fix unless they physically drop it etc. Us tech geeks use everything for one reason or another, we are educated users. That is his point not that it only appeals to the regular people, but it is less confusing than a computer (not to say a mac is confusing but it is more expensive).

Currently, online movie downloads have no what near the popularity as going out and buying a real DVD has. Greedy Target and Wal-mart. Don't the movie studios see that Target and Wal-mart and other retail stores will still sell DVDs, or they will take a loss?

hey i dont know about both MB and MBP being updated at the same time.
Not sure if it would make sense. there are limited Core 2 Duo's available.
How long can the limited supply situation be true though? I mean we're talking Intel here they must have huge amounts of manufacturing capability being ramped up for these chips. Possibly even being switched away from the production of Yonahs.

We've got a lot of that hate crowd here as both natural and naturalized citizens. Please don't preach to me about the ills of slavery or of religious/social intolerance. I'm quite capable of understanding and recognizing them for what they have been, and what they are.
By the same token, let's not forget that we who are here now, and even those who's ancestry can be traced back to before the revolution, ultimately are not indigenous, ancestrally, to this continent. The hatred and evils you so desperately want to ascribe to America were brought, lock stock and barrel, from Europe. Let's also not forget the role which African tribal leaders played in selling their own people into bondage and slavery. There is a saying: it takes two to tango.
What's funny is how hypocritical and disingenuous some of you folks are. I point out how I don't celebrate certain holidays but respect the holidays because I respect those who celebrate them, and Justin Long's Mac character points out what ills his platform doesn't suffer, and you call us arrogant and hateful people. We're telling the truth (and a rather positive one at that) and all you can do is respond to us with disrespect and vituperative hatred! You accuse us of being intolerant, and yet you practice the very same intolerance you accuse us of!
What's next, you're going to label us all as baby killers, murderers and rapists?
I work in a culturally and theologically diverse workplace, yet you won't see even so much as one second of me trying to push my views (religious or otherwise) on other people, but somehow since I'm a Christian (actually, I'm a Missouri-Synod Lutheran protestant) I'm a scourge upon humanity. Talk about intolerance.

Any UI/Software/Dashboard changes?
I don't mind the new design. I think I'll probably get one in a year or so when I move out.
Yes and no. There is a "new" Dashboard for waggle controls...I mean Kinetic, allowing easy motion access to things like FB, movies, movies and the basics. However, it'll be controller driven for the main part still.

yes, the ps3 can fold. just remember to join team 3446! and your ps3 should get around 900-1000 ppd (points per day)
i'll be getting more involved with this as soon as my electricity supplier has finally changed, should be a couple of weeks, my current love overcharging me for leaving things running 24/7.
i'll also try and sort out the software for my ps3, i barely use that so it'd prolly out do my computer looool

Everyone has lost interest in doing this kind of thing I guess. Maybe when they removed the screensaver, for good reasons, it wasn't as interesting for some people. Upgrading to new clients can be a hassle.
I think if the stats were more interesting, I would like to have a better way to see how I'm doing against people on other teams.
Kakaostats may go by the wayside, he doesn't have individual stats anymore and the rest of his stats are questionable because of some bug.:(

I had this on my Verizon iPhone. Last night, clock went back an hour instead of forward. Looked into clock settings, but decided to wait & see if it fixed itself by morning. Next morning, clock still incorrect on my lock screen, until I went to the home screen, then it corrected itself. Lock screen now good too.

I read somewhere awhile back that this same technology was in passports and and licenses and was very easy to read the information and hack in to the chip with some sort of device you can purchase or make from your local radio shack like a frequency scan tool like back in the old days with car alarms with code hopping technology! interesting video check out the whole vid the rfid part starts at 6:20sec. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuBo4E77ZXo

Just shows Apple is thinking where others do not. Apple are providing or creating outlets for their devices while other companies just produce mp3 players.
