Please post on the question on USCIS/DOS mess up, if there are enough people asking the same question then they migh answer it
This is what I asked:
Can the USCIS explain the mental, physical and financial trauma caused to 400,000 LEGAL immigrants. This illegal and reckless actions by the USCIS needs immediate attention by the law makers.
What is USCIS doing to address this 300 million dollar fiasco. We need some response and justice. Please help (www.immigrationvoice.org)

pappu, is there a separate effort on part of IV towards a legal-immigration based bill, where issues such as visa number capture will be taken up? It has been officially reported within the Ombudsman report that 182,694 have gone unused since 2000.

Well How do you know that all the members who are registered with IV is aware of this Webfax? Did you guys notify them in anyway? Do you expect/mandate all the IV members should be checking the website/forums all the time? No Hard feeling.... Just my 2 cents

1) The immigration debate is really hot. Monday is when the action starts. its not something 2 years down the line. Hence, we hope that members keep on updating themselves by visiting the site regularly
2) We cannot send an email everytime we want to send a webfax because initially we were thinking of sending a new fax every 2 days last week. But on advise of QGA, we decided to send only one fax. If we had gone the route of sending a fax every 2 days, would it be appropriate to send an email every two days? We do not want to associate IV's newsletter with some junkmail that comes everyday!

I think getting salary regulary but salary slip after three or more months is common scenario in industry (deleberate attempt by employers, so that H1B transfer can't be filed). I have faced this music, my kid facing it and I am sure many people facing this.
I was lucky to go about it, USCIS did not ask at the time of transfer. Need to get idea, how others have handled it. Does bank statement work in this case?
I have heard the real issue is when an employee transfers H1B from 'A' company to 'B' company after being been on 'bench' for a couple of months or more, where no salary was paid to the employee. One of my H1B friends, who was laid off, took to a motel job on cash basis to surive, lost his drive for H1B job for a few months while working at the motel, and then tried later to get back to H1B IT job. Alas, he couldn't transfer his H1B since he didn't have valid salary slips. This happened in 2002. He had to go back to India just before his current H1B visa expired.

For question number 3 can you give more details. What is AVR.
Basically when going to neighbouring countries we give our I94 card and when entering the country(USA) they give a new I94card and stamp and put the date on it.
so is it advisable to go out of country and reenter that way i will have new I94 card with new date on it, My only concern i got my ssn does it mean i lost H4 status as H4 are never given ssn, so in this situation if i go out of country and enter again will they put me questions as i have valid visa, i never applied AP and applied EAD but never used it.

My lawyer sent me the fedex tracking sheet for the I-485 package sent to:

Nebraska Service Center
850 S Street
Lincoln, NE 68508
I did not see any PO Box on the Fedex tracking sheet. I am not sure if she put the PO Box on the shipping label or not??
Is it a big deal?? Will my application be accepted.
Please help

What a lousy and pathetic system it is , the so called USCIS. I mean they want ppl to wait for a decade to follow all the rules legally to get GC.
And so is the congress/senate. It seems they are bent upon not giving GC, just dragging it from one recession to the other. :mad:

I don't have a suggestion but a question for you. What is this money that you get if you stick with the company after they lay you off. Why would you lose the money if you join company B? I am sorry I just thought it was kind of strange.
I guess he is talking about severance pay, could range from 1 month to 2 years of salary depending on duration of employment with company and there policies.

You can use extension tubes for all lenses on either Nikon or Canon cameras (obviously, on a Canon, they need to have Canon mount, and on a Nikon thye need to be Nikon mount).
Canon (and/or Nikon) may be using some special conversion signalling in the extension tube to inform the camera of the extension tubes existance. The teleconverters from Canon does this, whilst some other teleconverters of non-Canon brand do not. However, I think the extension tubes are much simpler animals, so they're probably just straight through connection of wires.
On Nikon, really old lenses are able to work with modern cameras, but some of the automatic functions aren't able to work (obvious things like the autofocus doesn't work on non-AF lenses, and you may not be able to use automatic aperture settings, which also may mean that the camera doesn't know the aperture and can't do automatic time selection either... How much functionality is lost depends on the age of the lens).
Canon on the other hand made a "big changeover", where they obsoleted the old mount and made a complete new, incompatible one when they introduced autofocus some 20 or so years ago.

Yes, it won't be a rejection or a denial either...just a simple RFE. Since both the names on the marriage certificate are different from the applicant (you) and the beneficiary (your wife), USCIS should be able to deduce that it's a mistake.

I just received a FP notice for my wife scheduled for Sep 19, 2007. I have not received mine yet (I am the primary applicant), I have a few questions regarding this. Please help me if you have any information.

2. Can my wife get it done without me getting an FP notice?
3. Can I get my FP done on the same day as my wife even though I did not receive my FP notice?
