Not so much. Intelligence is like a measuring cup. You can fill it up all you want, but you're not going to be able to pour a gallon of knowledge into a shot glass of a brain and have nothing spill.
Back on topic - we already have legal racism, but we call it Affirmative Action. Hiring one of two qualified candidates simply because he's black, brown, or yellow and there's a quota to fill is just as bad as hiring the white guy just because he's white.

What I am getting at by this post, is why are Mac people so biggoted against the PC. Another guy made a post somewhere else about how maybe one in fifteen PC users is anti Mac, but more like one in two Mac users is anti PC. What can a Mac user do that I can't? I do audio and video editing on my PC, I can't think of anything a Mac can do my computer can't (and I'll wager I'll do anything cheaper, and being poor that's a serious consideration to me), and what is the big draw to the Mac. I realize this isn't the best forum for a two sided debate, but I am thowing it out there anyway.

...I can't think of one person I've talked to who found the ads to be completely positive. The people I know who like Macs were all a bit uncomfortable like me, being stereotyped as smug and elitist.
If someone calls me smug or elitist because of these commercials I'll be forced to hurt them....Or at least sack their house with siege machines.

I unplugged everything and that made it work.

I didn't think to unplug them one at a time to control for where the problem was. Oh well. If your drives comes out and snaps back in right away without updating the firmware. Remove all devices before rebooting.

I wouldn't necessarily call concentrating on one thing a fixation, and even if it is, who cares? If you're constantly photographing what you enjoy, eventually you see more and more details to express through your photographs. Just enjoy! And share!
I agree, I think staying focused on a concept enables you see your progression and improvement - and you're enjoying yourself.
After that branch onto another concept, or combine concepts to form something new and different.
Get lost in the world of gear. Spend your time reading about the specs of forthcoming cameras and lenses, instead of actually taking pics. Denigrate the gear you have; fantasise about a fancier camera. That would make you a better photographer, surely? ;)
Surely the sheer fright from the sound of a machine-gun with oversize barrel (and a red ring of course ;) ) is enough to worry even the most veteran of photographers ;) :p

Here's the gist of the problem: too generous state worker union pensions. I wouldn't be surprised that these pensions are extensively re-done to drastically cut its cost in order to reduce state budget deficits.
So, the bad guys are the teachers, firefighters, police, tax collectors, engineers, paper pushers, etc... who are employed by the government? So, it's their fault that corporations and individuals aren't paying (or avoiding paying) sufficient taxes to pay for the spending that was enacted by elected officials?
Good to know who you blame for not being able to afford things like more oil subsidies, tax breaks for companies like GE, and lowering estate taxes on high value estates.
Not that surprising considering the efforts to now radically cut programs for the poor, sick and elderly.
(edit) How many BILLIONS of dollars in bribe money have been "lost" or "misplaced" or "stolen" in Iraq and Afghanistan? Billions with a B. Enough to fund the 14-16 billion dollar cost of extending unemployment 14 more weeks? In the past three years, over $3 billion in CASH was flown out of Kabul reports the Wall Street Journal. Officials don’t know exactly who got what, but have a general idea: “U.S. investigators believe top Afghan officials and their associates are sending billions of diverted U.S. aid and logistics dollars and drug money to financial safe havens abroad.” That’s still $9 billion less than what was lost in Iraq. Not quite enough, but close.
