I wonder what is the need of such crap from these airlines? Why not fly directly when service is available. Racism in Europe is a known fact and is evident everywhere. Best is to boycott their service and they will realize the result. Until people start doing it on massive scale they will not provide proper service.

Hi,
I have approved H1 through consulate processing for the year 2009 and I am currently working on L1 visa which is going to expire on nov 2009.
My company is not going to extend my visa.Is there any speedy process where I can do COS with my approved H1 and how much will it cost to me?
Another thing I want to ask that Is it advisable for going back India for stamping as I heard that US consulate people are rejecting H1 B visa

when you got H1 did you receive new I-94? If yes, then you should have been working with the employer who did your H1 and not L1 employer. If not you should be able to COS to H1 without issues.

Since your I-94s are already expired, I would advise to talk to your attorney asap and follow his advise....Do not rely on a forum to get suggestions on a time sensitive situation...

Thanks for the reply. Let me explain my case more clearly. Assume that I work at MEIJER/WALMART as 'cashier' in Detroit on H1B and because the store is unable to give enough hours, I find a contingent position in another MEIJER/WALMART as Cashier may be in another city.
When I received my H1B it was issued to MEIJER at its headoffice address and not at a particular facility

Me and my wife used AP at SF airport couple of months ago. The process was very smooth and IOs know exactly what to do with this document. However you will be sent to secondary and you will have to wait there for around 30 minutes (sounds like normal process everywhere else too).

For the experts on this board, my H1 expires on 9/30/07. Should I wait till after Aug. 17 to qualify for a 3-year extension?

if you qualified and filed for 485 depending on your PD, you most probably will get only 1 year extension. I just filed mine May 29th for 3 years and filed my 485 June 8th but when approved I got my H1 extension approved only for 1 year. I may be wrong, just referencing what my lawyer said..

Has anyone applied FAFSA or Stafford loan with Parolee status ? , I am planning to apply for my online degree. I have H1B ,but using AP to reenter.
I had applied for my wife when on parolee status.I guess you would have to been paroled for atleast a year before you can apply.

We don't really work that hard to make that money, If you worked during your undergraduate years in slaughter houses like McDonalds and Pizza hut, you would know what the value of money today, most of them are paid by their parents,
Most of the desis are creative but lazy at work (esp. people in my company), so they work long hours, Can not read complicated text, especially from Insurance companies
and some of them are look backwards as lawsuits are taboo, terrible balance between work and life, procrastination, and finally, not understanding of how to make use of simple, dummy proof American legal system to solve tiny and simple problems like insurance payments and rejections.

My home city is holding a hearing tomorrow on immigration, and I'd like to offer up the opportunity to take your collective feedback to the hearing.
What are the issues that you face in everyday life? What are things you have to do now that infringe on your ability to be as productive as you could? What are things that you are prevented from doing?
How do you think local governments might act to improve the situation to the benefit of everyone?
Cities do have an interest. For example, divided families have well documented ill affects on children that lead to risky behaviour and increased local social issues. City tax revenues are lost by the inability of H1B visa holders to start a business or to move to higher paying jobs.

First of all if you are the employee for whom the case has been filed, you should NOT be contacting the Dept. of Labor. The purpose of the DOL as stated in the regs is to notify the USCIS that there are no able, willing, or qualified US workers for the position, and that's why they are granting you the position. If you call, especially over and over as you have indicated, that's a big red flag. Leave it alone and let your attorney or employer contact them.

I am moving/transfer to another state within the same company in same position within US. My 140 is approved and 485 filed on July 2nd, 2007 My question:
Would my transfer affect my 485 processing. If yes, is there a solution?

No. Nothing will be impacted. You can move to a new location.
During the first 180 days:
You can move to any location or to a new employer. The only thing is that during first 180 days, your current GC sponsor employer can revoke your 140 and make your GC petition junk. However, since you are not doing it and only changing location you should be fine. You need to stick to the same job description.
After 180 days of filing:
You can move to any location or to a new employer. However after 180 days of 485 filing, you dont need your employer's co-operation because the employer cannot revoke your 140. Also, he cannot do anything about your pending greencard. You still do need to stay within the same job description at new location and new employer.
If you 485 is approved in less than 180 days:
This is very unlikely to happen to candidates from India and China. Mostly this happens to ROW applicants. However, if your 485 is approved in less than 180 days from filing, then you do not have the option of invoking your AC21 portability options. Therefore, you MUST go back to the location for which your GC was filed and work there atleast for 6-8 weeks. (The location mentioned in your labor cert.). In some cases, in consulting, the labor cert mentions a vague location such as "Unanticipated locations across US" -- in that case, you may not have to go back anywhere but please check with your lawyer if that is the case on your labor cert.

Lou Dobbs is criticizing against the STRIVE act and saying that doubling the Employment based immigration will flood the market and will effect the middle class in america.Guys, this is another great reason of why to change your mind and ATTEND THE RALLY! Let's force CNN to put us on their screens and laugh in Lou Dobbs' face! We can at least reply to his lies in a forceful yet peaceful and educated way (something he isn't!)
