All,
With the current rate of outsourcing happening around in US and the rate of influx of temporary workers coming in on mostly L1 and may be few on H1 B Visas every year through the outsourcing companies , i am sceptical about the future of GC aspirants. With the way of GC processing happening which are caused by restrictions /policies of governing bodies and no sight of positive relief in near future i am little apprehensive about the future.
I feel that there might be no areas that are not impacted by Outsourcing boom . Most of the companies that i see and my friends work ,i see many of the operations are outsourced or planning in place to get outsourced.
with the current rate of outsourcing and subprime mess which may cause slow down in economy , i am not sure if there would be any positions to support our AOS , when our PD becomes current. Some times i think , the fight for GC is even worth it.

off late we have been getting a steady stream of good news, updates , changes mostly to our favor.
It is not because someone in govt thought of giving us a break (if they did then I say give him/her a promotion/ merit increase what ever)....
It IS because people just like YOU fought for it....

No way CIR or any form of amnesty for illegal will happen in the next few year.
Immigration is one thing where majority of Americans are united in controlling illegal population.
It can pass Senate but House it will never pass.
Moment CIR comes up, the right wing will arouse the masses. House members focus on more
local issues and in many districts people don't want illegal amnesty or CIR. They want a crackdown.
Democratic members in the House will never pass CIR against a Republican opposition otherwise they will pay a heavy price in the election.
In fact democratic party was able to get the house by selecting conservation candidates in the
conservative districts. That is was the Howard dean/Rahm Emanuel strategy. Select candidates who can win rather than candidates who are steadfast with core democratic party principles.
Thus you have democratic party members like Jim Webb who are ardent supporters of the NRA
(pro guns) in a state like Virginia.
Lamar Smith, Zoe Lofgren, Xavier Becerra,Howard Berman, Lincoln D�az-Balart, Luis Guti�rrez, Nydia Vel�zquez,

filing of MTR does not give you status, once they accept it, yes you are in status again.
yes. You are basically keeping USCIS updated with the information of an emplpoyer who is willing to hire you once you get your GC.
How long does it usually take USCIS to accept the MTR. I am assuming if it's less than 6 months then we don't have to worry about being out of status?

NSC->CSC->NSC for 485
EAD/AP by CSC.
any idea on what are the processing dates for EAD and AP at CSC
and also finger printing timelines
Reading the forum I understand that EAD/AP approvals are coming fast from CSC.
I have not seen anyone posting about receiving finger Print notice if the case has been tansferred back to NSC from CSC.
This is the trend I have seen so far.
Anyone who has received FP notice if ur case has transferred from NSC to CSC and back to NSC - Please post.

Thanks for your detailed reply. Till now I have not paid for anything for my GC. I have been here since last 12 yrs. My employer is picking up the cost for PERM and I140, as you said I may pay for premium processing for 140 if I opt it that way. My concern is, he said we need to file I485 also as my old 485 is in old format (paying for EAD renewal and AP), not sure about that.
So we do not need to file a new I485 if EB3's 485 is pending ? After I140 is approved under EB2, we just need to request USCIS to look at this new application with old PD to approve EB3 485 ?

2) What is he going to do with the information that he is collect from you? Specifically when he collects personal and sensitive information.
3) You should ask if its possible to meet at workplace or somewhere else other than home.
I would not be comfortable meeting unknown people specifically at home with a single phone call, its not safe too.

No. You cannot get bachelors in india with 14 years.
The Diploma route for bachelors is this...
10+3(diploma)+3(bachelors).
For some other schools
10+3(diploma)+4(bachelors).
So in effect, the diploma route also puts you in 16 years / 17 years for Bachelors of Eng.
It might be extremely difficult to claim 14 years equivalent as US bachelors.

Lou Dobbs Sucks. Please stop his false propaganda on H1B. Get your facts right. Know the program before you talk about it. H1B is given for 3 years and have an option to extension for every 3 years. Nobody is overstaying their visas. They are extending their visa.

If it is of any consolation, though not required, I did submit employment letter along with her I485 from my wife's company which states her current salary and that employer is willing to provide employment till her H1B approval expires.
It means, if at all they have any doubts, they may issue RFE, but if you have a good relationship in responding to those RFEs using company letters etc, there is no problem. Good relation means, employer has to suppprt you always in case of any RFE, thats it. He needs stand on your side. Then there is no problem. But if he won't stand on your side, then it is a problem. So, thats why relation with employer is very important when on H1 or EB.
It means, if at all they have any doubts, they may issue RFE, but if you have a good relationship in responding to those RFEs using company letters etc, there is no problem. Great news. What will be greater is that not only these "students", but the people who employ them, the people who run the "university", the ones who gave accreditation to this "university" should be all loaded in a ship and dropped-off on a hitherto uninhabited island in the south pacific, with a live stream of their life made available post drop-off.
