I know this is not the original question asked, but I have heard that bad driving record surely does affect your green card processing!
Any criminal activity that pertains to driving would show up but the screening excludes traffic violations (parking, speeding, lane rule breaking, and other moving violations). In some states repeated rule breaking leads to criminal record, may be you have heard in that context. DUI, hit and run, not stopping for accidents, damage to public or private property and not reporting it etc. are also bad driving practices (if one survive any of them ;-)) and might lead to
criminal records and get flagged.

Thanks desi - AOS is what I was thinking as well but that doesn't seem to be one of the options listed when opening an account (the firm is Ameritrade - you check out their website https://wwwna.tdameritrade.com/cgi-bin/apps/IraApServlet). Guess they are just not aware of this status since it wasn't really designed to be a "status" and only recently have several people moved to AOS status given the backup for EB3 and EB2 China/ India
When I was on EAD, I called my status as "ADJUSTEE". That is not a valid status either. If you are applying for a brokerage account, you may call them to find out. But, they may ask you to fill other foreign national forms and all. I had the same problem when I was trying to open a brokerage account with TD. So, I went with Zecco.

Hi,
I am on H1B visa. My parents due to a medical condition cannot take care of themselves. They need someone to be present with them 24 hrs a day. Can I get them on H4 visa as dependent? I would like to keep them for 2-3 years in US and take care of them. Please let me know my options.

Parents are not considered dependents . So i am not sure they can come on H4 visa. I can understand the situation ( being the only son of my parents with deteriorating health ). Once in a while i think of getting rid of this stay in USA and heading back home and caring for the ones who raised me to adult hood.
There may be more avenues , let more knowledgeable people in this forum comment.

I work as a consultant for one of the big 5 firms implementing SAP applications. What is the job code referenced for this job? I want to know the job category it falls under as per the Dictionary of Occupation Title or the O*Net published by DOL. My company did not provide me this information but any help will be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you get the EVL in the same title as in your LC .Whatever is your title is currently not relevant to GC since GC is for future employement not for current employement what you perform.

Logically, there shouldn't be any issues as you have a G-28 for all required forms.
Let me take this opportunity to tell you I have immensely enjoyed your to the point messages and quotes.
I got a bunch that has photocopies from my lawyer of everything that went out to USCIS. 485, EAD, AP for myself and my wife.
Everything is ok, except that there is an extra copy of G 28 each for myself and my wife and these extra copies are not signed by attorneys.
In the middle of the package, right above the 485 forms, there are G28 forms that are properly signed. Everywhere else there is signatures where needed. But at the bottom of the bunch, there is extra G28 for each one of us that is missing signature from the attorney.
Could this be a problem? Also, where is the URL for USCIS FAQ that states under what conditions that petitions can boomerang back to us?

Attorney Murthy referred to few cases (I think she said 3) that went thru her law firm, which got approved on the last week of June and also on July 2nd. She said both her client (who were pleasently surprised, good for them) and the law firm were surprised as the dates were not current in June and also not in July due to revised VB.
She mentioned it in the context of lot of crazy things that is happening in USCIS and questioned the 60,000 cases that are being claimed to have been approved in under a month. All these bizarre happenings would get questioned and hopefully explained in the litigation.

I have filed on July 2nd itself and still no receipt, no FP notice, nothing. Called USCIS 3 times and they asked me to wait until it's been 3 months after the filing. Then only they will do something it seems.
BTW, how can I get to 2 Level representative?
I have filed on August 10th and I do not have a receipt either. I guess we need to be patient. I have checked even people with July 19th are waiting.

I have a Tamron 90mm macro for my D1, and despite the D1's autofocus strength, AF is still as useless as ever for macro (with the Sigma lenses that have HSM, AF might become somewhat useful in certain limited situations at less-than-lifesize magnification). If I could afford it, I would be happier with a longer lens (maybe the 150mm Sigma as a nice compromise) for most of my macro photography - including butterflies, insects, and plant life in the field.
Bear in mind that if you do get the Nikon 200mm f/4 (or the Sigma 180mm f/3.5 HSM macro - HSM being equivalent to AF-S), you'll probably want to keep the 60mm for situations where you don't want so much telephoto compression (flowers being a prime example).
Edit: ah, I see you're using a D2X. Then, maybe you could get some use out of the autofocus for chasing insects in flight. With a D70 (which is what I assumed that you had at first), you couldn't expect so much luck. ;)
