My lawyer is arguing that a MS degree in CS would be sufficient evenif I don't have a BS CS degree.
I didn't realize my attorney was too incompetent when I hired him. The sole purpose of appointing an attorney was to make my life easy. Rather he is giving me a hard time.
Mention clearly what is indicated in job requirements. If the labor did not allow for BS in any enggg or related engg and just asked for BS in CS your I-140 will be denied for sure. No need to wait for the denial. Why did your attorney filed a labor like that for you knowing you do not have BS in CS.

Just wanted to share our 7th year H-1B extension stamping in Chennai on July 15th. Since my I-140 was approved, the I-797 petition was approved for 3 years. My family (wife and daughter) attended the interview along with me. The procedure for H-1B extension/renewal is much easier in Chennai compared to first time stampers. There is a separate counter for renewals and the interview procedure is quite simple. After the initial screening of documents, we went to a separate renewal counter which did not have any queue.
The VO just asked some questions about my nature of the job and how long I have been with my company. FYI, my company is a major reputed IT Foreign MNC. My family was not asked any questions. We did not have any PIMS delays and I got the passport couriered the very next day itself. The petition was approved a month before the stamping. Overall it is a much streamlined process for H-1B visa extensions/renewals.

um...but at the time my new employer offering me a position with an official offer letter, my current H1b status could be expired for over 3 to 4 months...(I am sure they want me to work for them since the partner there is my previous boss)

Advocacy Action Item August 2009 - update
The summer August recess is in progress and the lawmakers are still in their constituencies. This is an opportunity for us to meet with them and address our issues and present solutions in preparation for the upcoming CIR. We must push for our agenda to get our provisions in the base bill as CIR is being drafted currently. If we do not get our provisions in the base bill then it is much harder to get them attached to the bill in the form of amendments.
IV therefore requests its members, to continue to call up and start scheduling lawmaker meetings NOW. Please take appointments with your local lawmakers of both houses of Congress. our members have been taking appointments and so far the feedback has been extremely positive. These meetings have enabled us to enlighten the lawmaker offices and engage in constructive dialog that not only addresses our issues and concerns but also provides solutions to the backlogs.
As communicated earlier, we have created multiple documents and support material that will go into your �Advocacy Packet� for you to carry for these lawmaker meetings. We have also created a Lawmaker Appointment Book

Immigration Voice is a grassroots organization, which means, every member in the community plays an important role towards resolving our issues and achieving our goals. The best way to organize ourselves so that our efforts can be effective and yield desired results is by joining state chapters and actively participating in grassroots efforts. State chapters play a very important role in shaping the organization. State chapters organize conference calls, meetings, social gatherings, grassroots advocacy, publicity campaigns, and media campaigns, generate awareness and coordinate many other activities. State chapters also train and mentor members and organize meetings with local lawmakers to discuss our issues, which is the most important aspect of grassroots advocacy. Chapter leaders keep the members of their state involved, recruit more members and help organize activities and events. What are the implications if for some wierd reason your I-485 gets denied and you dont have an H1-B to fall back upon?
Say you have an H1-B which is extended for 3 yrs( based on approved I-140) from now till 2011, in the year 2011 your I-485 file is opned and its not approved for some reason so will you get another 3 yr extension for H1-B ie till year 2014?
When you are switching employer with AC21 using H1B you can get a transfer to the new company for 3 years and get extensions from the new employer when that 3 year expires. So no worries... Enjoy

My wife is doing her MBA in H4. My PD is July 2008. Being on H4, you can save a lot of money in fees. And also you never know, If at all the visa re-capture bill is passed, you might able to file I-485. So My advice is to continue on H4.
