Hey y'all. This is probably wishful thinking, but how would you go about storing and managing a 110,000 song (650GB) iTunes library on a wireless network drive?
The setup wasn't hard, but it' SO SLOW!
I plugged the 2TB USB drive with the library into an Airport Extreme, connected to it over the wireless network, opened iTunes while holding 'alt', and chose the library on the network drive. Unfortunately, it's so slow that scrolling and searching are next to impossible. And forget about AirTunes!
The goal would be to have that whole library accessible from my laptop and then played through AirTunes speakers.
Like I said, this is probably just wishful thinking, but has anyone else set up a system like this?

Or be a clever bean and take off the Gore options in easy mode. Or just put the option in for anymode. Adult and suck at it? Easy mode, tick Gore box. Child present? untick Gore box.
Rail shooters are just twich/reaction based games. They could totally remove blood and the game would still work. Hell if this game is just Point Blank with a Resident Evil/Zombie theming then it would still work.

Someone is living in a crevice for the past decade. :rolleyes:Sorry, but even the head of cyclone/hurricane research for the World Meteorological Organization says that it is premature to link "global warming" (see: theory of) to increased hurricane activity this year (http://www.breitbart.com/news/2005/09/23/MTFH02074_2005-09-23_11-27-45_SCH341095.html).

Dr Evil:
I am trying to take over the world and it isnt easy for somebody like me, I need to know the info, I needed to be in the know. My PC prevented me from doing that.
The trouble was a freakin idiot designed my PC; it wasnt helping me steal nuclear warheads so I could hold the world to ransom.
My PC kept getting errors and it crashed so much, I could never complete my plans on properly. This would make Mr Bigglesworth upset. Meow!
Yeah, and when Mr Bigglesworth got upset I got angry, I had the PC staff at my local store li-qui-dated, yeah, huh-uh!
Thats when I got my Mac, thats when I could finally take over the world, it was so easy. My plans were made so simple.
My lasers would fire, The Alan Parsons Project actually worked.
With the software included with my Mac I could easily organise my iLife with my evil henchmen, instantly my Number 2 knew who he worked for.
It was so easy and I didnt need to spend billions of dollars either.
FADE: APPLE LOGO
Im doctor evil and I took over the world.
Before you think i am weird this is for my college project in media studies as well. I have to design an advert, so i did a switch advert. Yes i have seen the switch poster as well.

trim is only supported on SSD's that you buy from apple, and only recently.
As the other poster said, there haven't been problems with people running 3rd party SSD's w/o trim enabled. In fact some users have reported problems with their drives after enabling trim support.
If you really feel you must have it, search the boards, there is a tutorial here on how to enable it through some simple command lines.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe SSD's with the Sandforce controller such as the Vertex 3 don't need TRIM as the controller takes care of this function.

The impedance affects more than just the volume it also affects the quality of the sound pretty significantly.

All I can say is, Made you look ;-)
Then the article served its purpose. Until advertisers stop paying for page views and start paying only for click throughs this click baiting crap will continue. Posting links to this kind of stuff only makes it worse. Summarize or post the article here, with attribution, if you actually think it is worth comment.

XCode 4 looks like its going to take a big step foward. Hopefully as large as the one between ProjectBuilder and XCode.
I'm really looking forward to this. Any know of a possible release date?
I think WWDC or a Apple iOS Event Preview (so 2011), Apple will likely make sure they get it right and release that along with the new iOS 5 or Mac OS X 10.7.
Apple is in no rush to hurry something as important as this. A buggy IDE = Fail for Apple and a slow down in iPad iPhone iTouch and Mac Apps.

The new 3.1 interface, while generally nice, takes away the option to change the color of the dock notification. Now I have clashing red starbursts in my Dock (those of NNW and Mail). I really preferred having only Mail red, because I need to see new mail out of the corner of my eye, but who really cares about new RSS items...:rolleyes:

Does anyone know what software I can use to create such a thing?

Looks really good. I did notice one typo though. You've got Combodrive listed for the eMac Superdrive model's optical drive.

Does anyone know if Netflix works with the iPad 2 and the HDMI cable? Thanks.
I'll let you know on Wednesday or Thursday.
Still waiting for the brown truck to arrive. ;)

sorry, basically I'm trying to initiate a connection to my server in application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions: this is to instantiate my cookie that im using to sync devices to my app, if someone gives out their register code then their device will be bounced off my server when the new device with their reg code syncs... thus not allowing them to make queries to the database.., if there is no response then connection:didFailWithError: will catch the fail error and the action sheet should pop up on the main screen.
Thanks for the hep will have another look at my code with your response in mind.
EDIT:
so found a solution in some sample code refereed from in the reference documentation.
it was as easy as swapping
[actionSheet showInView:[UIApplication mainWindow]]
with
[actionSheet showInView:self.window];
I also realized that i was calling the wrong name for the window as it was initialized as window in my .h file not mainWindow... think i need a nap .. :)

They look great all lit up. I've tried to draw the Apple logo in the past and I find it hard, never mind to actually carve it into something (it could be just my crappy drawing though :D).
