Never hurts to drop off your resume to one of the store's managers. Ask for the "Store Leader" though as that is the main store manager and usually has the final say about the hiring.
Do the Apple stores accept applications like that anymore?

I agree. If you put a SSD in the 09 Mac Mini you can always take it out again before you eventually sell the Mini if you wish.

get ready to wait awhile. I ordered a 27 imac the day they were available. shipping time is jun 15th arrive jun 22nd.
I see the big delay if the SSD option is ordered. In the meantime the 2010 i7 works well. I wonder why such a delay for SSD

Skype caused my 13-UMBA CPU temp to rise to 80C, installed Coolbook and now runs about 70-73C. Normal CPU temp at idle is 43C, and 38C with Coolbook (at .92v settings). Interestingly, when I run Skype on my Dell Latitude with an i5-540M processor/4MBram, the CPU only heats up from 50C to 55C. So the Skype temp effect is much greater on the MBA, probably because of the C2D is working harder.

Hi all,
I recently purchased the new 2011 MBP and a friend provided me with a cracked, full version of iWork which was installed as normal and required a serial number which worked successfully.
My MBP is now telling me that there are software updates available for it however I was wondering if anyone knows if I perform the software update will my version no longer work (i.e. will apple know I did not buy the product and it won't let me use iWork anymore)?
Thanks
Daniel

Great! Now, how exactly would I do that? I'll have to find the official 4.3.2 IPSW file and then what? Do I use iTunes for it?

Haha. I agree. The guy's like nightcrawler. Kind of goofy, but I liked the logo thing in the end, that was nicely done I think.

I kinda like the name as well, but what puts me off is something in the whole shaping area of it. It might be a combination of the "I don't know how much I want to tilt" tilt and the handwriting thing going on.
Ehm, I think what I trying to say is that I feel like it would look better if the hand writing had more determination in it and and a light look... like the name when you say... try and say it... Pablished... it's a "to the point" name that sounds like thin lines written in determinate haste on a horizontal line.
Im rambling I know, just pouring out thoughts. :)

If you..
- want a smaller player
- need FM radio
- want a (poor) video camera
- have a tendency to drop things (since it is flash based it can take beatings better than the classic can)
- have a small enough collection or can easily pick what you want and don't want.
- You don't plan on expanding your collection much.
Go with the 5th Gen Nano
If you..
- want superior battery life
- want superior capacity
- hard drive fragility isn't a issue for you
- interested in holding video (16GB nano isn't going to do much for holding video)
- don't mind the larger form factor (some prefer it, fits much more comfortably in hand for me in comparison to the nano)
Go with the classic
Spot on. This should be saved and given to anyone in this scenario. No one can tell you what to get but you. I can tell you to get an iPod Touch, but why?
You need to determine what your needs are. I've been in your shoes. When I finally decided to move to an Intel Mac, I had no idea what to get. In the end, it came down to what I liked most and why.
Balance off your needs, set a price limit, and go from there. If you listen to someone else, you may end up wishing you listened to yourself. :)

To be honest, I had forgotten the apple even existed, until I saw the FP iMac commercials early last year. As soon as I saw the commercials, I drove 2 hrs to the closest Apple store to check them out. But, being a PC user for 15 years, I was iffy about going with something I knew nothing about, but, the main thing that limited me was my budget at the time was only 1500, so I couldn't get the iMac w/ the Superdrive, grrr.....
Well, sadly, I ended up going with a slapped-together Athlon system. Everything was running smoothly, so I thought I was happy with my decision. But, after a few months of playing with system, and countless Windows XP reinstalls, due to system errors, driver conflicts, and that devil-incarnate directx, i started looking at apple's again, even though I had no money to buy one :(
Then, as luck would have it, during a Thanksgiving day Beer/Football fest, a friend of mine offered to by my Athlon system for 1800, which I couldn't pass up. So, in short, I sold the system within the week, & promptly ordered an iMac, still had to get a 15" (but with the SuperDrive) :) although the 17" was amazing, at the time it was a little out of my budget.
After using the iMac for a few months, I was very pleased with my decision, I miss the games, but my wife bought me a playstation2 to take care of that, heh.
After watching my financial situation improve since the beginning of the year, I decided to buy a laptop. I was open to all brands/platforms, and, to be honest, I was intent on buying a peecee laptop, since there were a few things that i HAVE to have a pc for, so I did.....actually I bought two....
The first one I bought was a Toshiba, but it had a bad video chip, so i returned it, the 2nd was a sony grv-680, a very powerful machine, but 9 lbs was too much, and it had very bad build quality, so I returned it too.
After researching for a few more weeks, I went to look at the 12" Powerbook....played with it at the Apple store, and took one home that day :)
(it's got the SuperDrive too, hehe)
anyway, with the money I saved going w/ the PBook, I stopped by WalMart, and bought one of the 499 HP bundles, which handles the few things that i needed the peecee for, hehe....
Anyway, after playing with the Powerbook, I've decided that I want the 17"....so, if all things work out, I'll be owning a 17" by the end of summer, my wife will inherent the 12", & my 5-yr old will get the iMac.
Anyway, that's my story, I went from forgetting apple even existed to owning 2 Macs within a year
:)
just thought i'd share my story

I have my home computer set up as a mini-webserver, which I mostly use for sharing pictures and other files with people, however, recently, I have been unable to serve pictures over a certain size.
Pictures will load to a point, but then they will stop loading and I will get an error in Console.log and system.log:
/Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari: Corrupt JPEG data: 2 extraneous bytes before marker 0xdb
/Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari: Corrupt JPEG data: premature end of data segment
I know that the pictures are not corrupt because:
1. They worked fine a month ago
2. I can open them in any picture editor/viewer without problems
3. It happens to all my pictures above a certain (unknown) size
Here's a link to one picture: http://cjc343.no-ip.com/IMG_0001.JPG
Everyone who I've had try to load it in any browser cannot load it past the very first part. I have absolutely no clue what's going on.
I hope I provided enough details...

I am leaving the mac world :( I just got a HP computer with a slow celeron and 256 memory. My parents though need a more powerful computer, their 233 mhz beige isn't cutting it. So i am giving them my eMac and using the HP still macs hit intel. This is not going to be fun.

I have a white MB and an iPad. They get used for different things...MacBook is for schoolwork, ripping DVDs and hosting my iTunes library, mostly. iPad is for browsing on the couch, reading books, and traveling.
I wouldn't give either of them up, but I am considering getting an iMac instead of a MBP later this year when it's time to replace the aging MB. I like the flexibility of being able to bring a real computer to the coffee shop or to class, though, so I'll probably go with a 13" MBP.

If you have no experience in this type of work, I would suggest using a service like Jotform. Easy, web-based form builder. They host the database. You can embed the from anywhere.

Thats what i thought.... And then i saw Unicom and thought this was about them making a generic copy of the iPhone 4. :o
If they were making a clone they would be called HTC, Motorola, Google, or Microsoft.
